Cycle Through Player Spawn Spots

The June 2nd 2015 status report got me thinking a bit about player spawns...

 

I think it might be interesting if each possible player spawn point was used in random order until all have been used once and then a new order would be established and newspawns could spawn according to the new order.

 

One side-effect of this might be to reduce the desert effect caused by too many people moving through the same spawn locations again and again, preventing respawning in that area. While I generally think the coast shouldn't be plentiful in supplies I think artificially high traffic (typically after an update) of newspawns can make the situation worse than perhaps is ideal or intended.

set new random order

 

- not difficult, spreads the spawns more effectively, not predictable

( as long as the spawn point is not assigned to the new character before he chooses a server to log in ) ?

Yup, this is basically what I'm thinking - but much more eloquently put. :)

I like it. Honestly when I saw the title of the thread I assumed it was going to be "let us choose where we spawn" which would have been horrible.

 

But yeah, reliably spreading freshspawns along the coast would be great.

 

I wouldn't mind the devs experimenting with scattered spawns all over Chernarus rather than just on the coast, just to see what impact it has on gameplay. Would be the time to do it after all.
