Landmines + persistence?

Recommended Posts

Just wondering how this is going to go down...

are landmines going to be persistent on the map? If so, with what we know about the central economy, the map could become littered with tons of random landmines.

i hope they are persistent.

walk behind another person?

crawl along prodding dirt with knife?

What you fail to grasp is that there would be thousands of landmines scattered over the map at some point, its in an inflow/outflow problem leading to instant death.

is that something you think is good for the game?

I'm sure the devs are going to place landmines all over the map in random spots. Most likely if they are scattered over the map, there won't be too many of them.

Well the question is are loot landmines activated? If not then it really is not a problem as player set/activated landmines are not likely to be wasted in random places but rather used as perimeter defense and as such should be persistent.

Like all persistent items, they probably have a lifetime. If you drop a stick on the ground, it's persistent but it might only stay there several hours. A tent on the other hand might stay on a server for a week without further interaction. Maybe a mine is somewhere in between.

Don't tents last forever? I would suspect the same of a landmine guarding that tent

It would depend if it was activated or not, probably. Also what if there was a static minefield area of the map.

The mine I found is not 'set', and takes up 4 slots of inventory. I wanna set it near my stash, but not sure if I deactivate it for myself later. It could be tricky.
