Has the increased difficulty had eny effect on KoS frequency?

Recommended Posts

What I noticed, starting a conversation with something utterly ridiculous confuses the other player and engages them enough so they don't KoS, since now you're not just another nameless person, but someone memorable. RPing (instead of being a generic player) helps a lot too.

"Excuse me, Sir, do you have a moment to talk about our lord and saviour Jesus Christ?" :D

Of course, it works only if you spot them first and sneak up close enough to be heard, which is fine by me, since I prefer treelines and a very slow and methodical pace, and most other people prefer roads or glades and sprinting / jogging non-stop.
Though since the naked eye zoom got nerfed my pace got even slower.  <_<

But, at least, once 0.55 rolled around, I noticed people now hesitate for a second or two before making the decision whether to pull out / raise their gun or not, and travel in larger groups in general.

Players feel threatened from all sides. Bodily needs. Diseases. Zombies.

Then we see another survivor looting houses ahead, and think "The hell you will...that loot is mine"

There is now zero incentive to be anything but a sneaky backstabbing badstard towards strangers.

And I am medic usually in my group, so this is difficult for me.

One more thing. Specialisation, as in different playstyle roles, is gone now. Everybody are universal - survivor - bandit - scavenger - farmer - medic.

Horse shit, Those who liked to KoS before will still do it ( which was a majority) those who didnt KoS probably still wont. I feel no great need to kill people now its a little tougher(and i do mean a little tougher the way some people speak its suddenly impossible not to starve

I have to laugh though you guys will try and say anything to get your easy lootz returned.....

I am not really that sure if it is actually tougher, as I wrote earlier. But the amount of loot is still shard-dependant. Some private shards still have funny things like extremely little loot or even no loot at all. When I see twitch streamers on public, I don't think it is actually tougher at all, they have about anything you could whish for.

Either way, there are ppl struggling to get food the normal "looting around" way on some servers, and when your teammate says "Let's hunt them, maybe they have food." (wrote that above) it seems kind of obvious that loot (food) distribution does in fact influence playing styles. On the shard we were playing on there was only loot at police cars earlier that day, nothing else at all. Later there was a little loot, but not like on public. Different shards / servers in private shards are not the wonderland that public is.

I don't think we got any extreme loot problems right now on public, really, when I played on there, everything was achievable. I don't mind if it gets tougher in the future, some high end pvp loot could be less available as far as I am concerned, but it will definitely influence the play style of ppl.
