Character reset after visiting dubious server.

So I can't find my usual server on my favorites and pick a random public server. Anyway off I go into the the doctors office/restaurant and I notice a fair amount of loot lying around. OK not played any other servers for ages I'm just thinking I've been lucky.

 

I go to the supermarket and the shelves are packed I pick up some rounds and few bits and bobs but it's clear there is too much loot. I'm thinking maybe the folk who run the servers can change how much loot they can have spawn? The loot was usual not all of it pristine just a lot of it. Anyhow making it this easy is not my up of tea so off I go and find my normal sever. I play for a few minutes then my character is reset and an admin has been informed.

 

So did I visit a server with duped gear? I've no experience of running a server or hacking/duping etc only what I read on here.Did this cause my character to be reset? Not that fussed as I loose interest when I get close to being fully geared. Still it's been awhile since I've had a mosin with a scope....

I think it was a very unlucky random character reset :/... As far as I know there's nothin that kicks you for having duped gear yet , although that would be awesome .

The mechanic is relatively well known, although I've yet to encounter it happening deliberately.

 

I don't really see how a server admin could deliberately reset you. But they might have control over a message that (wrongly) tells you that. Are you 100% you have been reset?

As much as i would like to see dupers banned, char whipeing/kicking of innocent players who encounter and item dropped by or on the body of a duper should not be penalized.

There is an exploit on a certain forum that is allowing people to spawn mass loot on specific servers, not sure how they are doing it.
