Pistol silencer not working with zombie?

I was in the hospital, one came after me and I shot and kill it with a 1911 and silencer. But suddenly I got a wave of zombies coming as it it hear me shooting. anyone experience that?

Yes happened to me too same gun and i swear i was on the ground floor of a hospital too. I shot one , it did make that silencer sound but then two more came rushing in. I stopped using it because it only has seven bullets and it's a pain to keep reloading. Mabey if i had 2 magazines i will use it again. Or if i ever find a silencer for my rifle.

neither do silencers work against zombies in the current stable, nor with the advanced zombie ai in the experimental...

but it should work some time soon

Ah, Eugen (i think) wrote about this, silencers are not yet associated with zombies, ie; zombies react as if the gun was unsurpressed.

I think it's a wise oversight, so they can focus on gathering more information about the melee and character-stealth portions of testing.

but soon™ it will be implemented, so that we can enjoy popping Zeke in the back of the head instead of having to fight him head on.

You need the new infected AI and stealth system for this. You'll still need to wait for it.

I usually have 2 or 3 zombies to deal with after firing the silenced CR75. Once you know to keep watch for a moment after the shot, it's not so bad. I actually shoot a gun in Dayz - incredible :)

And my friend who roams around closely doesn't hear a thing. Most important is the players not hearing guns. Shooting the zombies is a treat, my god, finally! ;)

I might have one ..i gave away my cr75 with 2 clips last night to a buddy but I think i found one..let me check later.

 

OK confirmed I still have the clip. Do you want UK assault vest as well?

Do you remember where you found the magazine for the CR75 ?  I been carrying the gun for over a week now but can't seem to find the magazine for it.

Ehh, one mag I found on the back of one of those rusty Hilux pickups (I was quite surprised myself) and the other for the CR75 was on the north-east airfield. There is usually pistol related stuff in the main building there. I must say I found most of the pistol mags in the north for some reason. Might just be that I like looting there. Seems you can get a mag easily from thewire ^^

 

I carry a scoped AK101, MP5 silenced and the CR75 and I adore every single one of them. I wish I could trade the 101 for a Steyr, though.
