Are some trucks spawning with mechanical problems?

Recommended Posts

Before we start off I'd like to say I am very experienced with the V3S, I have been driving it extensively since it first came out and I have a pretty good feel for when they change something in it.

Over the last two days I have found three trucks that just would not go, the first one I found in SW military base and I couldn't even get enough speed or power to get up either road out of the base.

The other two I have found have been between Vyborg and Zeleno, they are the same as other trucks, full tank of gas, in their regular spawn areas, no signs of being shot up, all tires present, but just have no power as if something is holding it back. I manged to get one of these trucks to the NWAF to test its flat ground speed and without holding shift my top speed was a cunt hair over 30kph, while holding shift it was exactly the same. I also tested acceleration and holding shift did nothing for that either.

I've tried logging out and logging back in and that fixed nothing, I shot out a few of the tires and that did nothing, I rammed it with another truck and that did nothing. The only test I have not done is seeing if another person experiences the same problem with the truck as I do but I will try to do that today.

To be clear, this has only happened with a handful of trucks, over the last 3 days I've probably driven 20 trucks, only 3 had this issue.

They are stuck in top gear. Unless you are going downhill, it's hard to get up any speed.

It will be sorted out, when the transmission is implemented, which will allow us to shift gears.

I had the same problem about a week ago with a truck found at Zub;  I could have ran back to the motor pool faster.  Once I got the truck back, I told someone else in the group about it and they gave it a try.  The truck worked fine for the second person, no server reset or anything; maybe ten minutes after I got it back to base.  Some trucks just don't seem to like certain people, but once someone else gets in the drivers seat, it appears that all is forgotten.

yup finding it very odd when you stop, turn the engine off and when you get back into it... 10km speeds. Even tried to trade players once and it worked, havent since.

I noticed also, the normal trucks are a tad too fast, and turn like there is no power steering at all.

The boxed trucks are slower, but turn way to fast and flip to easy.

So you cant win with either or vechiles they both flip...

If i could take the motor out of the Boxed version and put it into the normal trucks body with the better steering we might be able to stay flat on the ground long enough.

We never had this problem before with engines why all of a sudden they get locked into 1st gear?
