60 shots with M4 without touching the magazine?

Recommended Posts

Can you fire 60 shots with a M4 without touching the duct-taped 60-rounds magazine (2x30) after 30 shots? Would be quite unrealistic.

Yea It just shoots the full 60, but I honestly don't care because the whole mag switching is glitched so I don't even bother hitting 'F' when the icon pops up

Yes, it's unrealistic. Mind you, to expect a 75 round drum magazine to operate perfectly smoothly without jamming is probably a bit unrealistic too.

In an ideal world it would be good to have random gun jams (say 1 in 50 chance or something). M4s are probably more prone to this IRL than AKs?

Someone ether never fired an M4 or never conducted proper preventative maintenance.

The devs really need to switch the magazine design to something like this:

clyde_armory_surefire_60_round_magazine2

60 round casket magazine, no need to make an animation for swapping jungle mags.

Me neither, but out of curiousity, how does that make any sense? AFAIK the AK family hardly needs any maintenance ?

Wouldnt AK perform better if I had neglect them equaly?

What happens is the AR family is more effected by carbon buildup. AK functions very differently.

Skip to :30 and some Japanese cartoons will show you what I mean.

This is where the whole "unreliable" thing comes from.

Yay for Anime learning!

At sometimes maybe cleaning your gun and gun jams will be a part of the game. Right now its just pray and spray. The game would probably be more fun if the larger magazines were removed. I have several times been in gunfight were the opponent shoots and shoots and shoots and I think, now he's gotta have used all his bullets in the mag but No.

Vietnam era M16 rifles had many issues. Among them was the fact that early ammunition wasn't manufactured to proper specifications and led to stoppages, a misconception that it was "self cleaning" led to Americans not conducting proper maintenance, a non chrome barrel or chamber, magazine springs wearing out easily. Most of these issues were fixed with the adaptation of proper education, better internal parts and newer types of ammunition.

Early AKMs were idiot proof, less parts, a gas system that was less prone to clogging, chrome parts. The only issue with AK rifles are the sights, which are prone to damage.

Flash forward to today, M4 carbines and M16A2/A4 rifles have chrome barrels and chambers, unit level maintenance conducts annual gauging of all issued firearms and replaces worn out parts at time of inspection, soldiers are trained to replace their magazines often and good quality ammunition such as M855 are standard issue. I can fire my issued M4 for about seven magazines before experiencing real issues.

With AKs, the best AKMs I fired were Russian Izhmash or Chinese builds. I've encountered several poor quality AKs from places like Eastern Europe or the middle east that are utter crap. Most issues being the parts aren't built to spec or the barrels aren't chromed.

As far as neglecting both, it all depends, but you are more likely to find a M4 in better condition from a 1st world military than an AKM from a 3rd world backwater military.
