Chernarus - Landscape Photography

Recommended Posts

Hey guys,

here's a collection of the "photos" I take during my trips. I thought bundling them in one thread would be a nice idea.

enjoy,

Kalle

This is wonderful! I take photos a lot, but nothing too crazy. It's like my scrapbook, I usually play with one or 2 other people, so whenever we go somewhere cool, I take photos to keep track of everywhere neat I've been and everything cool I've seen with my pals. One time when me and my bf were going to the prison island, and when we were on the shoreline, I was like "Wait, I need a picture of this, the lighting is too good, and what if we don't make it back" cx Sadly it turned out that he got stuck in the rocks and died there, so that's the last photo I got of him with that character :p I swear the lighting seemed better at the moment67e098597a00972da128aa0a8d2c5c27.jpg

Very nice! #4 and #15 are very similar to shots I've taken previously; goes to show that they must be gorgeous positions to take a screenshot :) I think that very last one is my favorite.

Kalle, I love your postcard style of editing. I know absolutely nothing about editing and have never even touched an editing program (except Paint, duh). Any advice on where and how to learn? You know I've got a ton of source material of my own, so it would be nice to learn how to do some basic touch up at least :)

Well, I grew up using Photoshop so I can only give you the advice to use this one ^^ but of course if you don't earn your living with it then you are not likely to buy it just to polish some screenshots. Anyway, if you do want to get your hands on that piece of software, there are some nice YouTube channels giving tutorials such as "Howard Pinsky" or "Phlearn". Or simply look for tutorials on how to improve landscape photography stuff in general. When I work on my screenshots, after chosing the best ones (I took like 80 today and uploaded only these three, which is much!), I like to run some instagram style color filters first to get some inspiration. Afterwards I play around with layer blending modes, the selective color correction, vignettes and bluring either fore- or background by hand and sharpening the point of interest.

I hope I could help you a little bit :)

Before you reach for your wallet, you may wish to consider giving GIMP a try. There are lots of tutorials on YouTube.
