Why are Animals only in a few spots on the map ?

 Why are animals only in a few spots on the map and dose anyone know why and when will they be all over it just gets kind of old when you have only a few spots to hunt

Mostly because the game is not finished yet. The animals are all also undergoing changes in regards to AI and what they look like via the new renderer. A few months back we had no animals and hunting didn't exist, and when I started rabbits were about the only animal I could find and you couldn't shoot or interact with them, all they were good for was reportedly being responsible for random zombie noises as if the game had tourette's syndrome. Heck, it's only be maybe 3-4 months where you could skin/carve them and use/eat them. It's a work in progress, be patient.

At the moment as with geeks they only spawn in certain areas. I know there is a soft border (the east west highway up north) where no AI spawns past it. Other than that I've found some areas where I usually will find cows, or either deer and pigs.

I've noticed the same, I go south of the railroad tracks to hunt (Severograd, Ratnoe etc),  boar and chicken can be found just south of the tracks but never any north of it.

Deer, boar, and chicken seem to be just about everywhere except north of the main road to the north so I'm not sure what you mean. Cows are the only animals limited to select areas.

What I mean is I have never seen any animal in the deep woods anywhere its always around some city/towns outskirts and yes I've been up north this last patch

Yes, that is a good observation. I use to be able to find some animals in the forest, but recently only find them in town areas. I wouldn't worry about it in the long run, they are just trying to get AI to work properly.
