Some thoughts about zombies and stuff...

Recommended Posts

Didn't find any results about this, so decided to create a thread. To make it short and to the point:

1. If the Infected are sick humans, why they don't freeze, starve, dehydrade, or drown, etc. to death?

2. Why not make them just regular dead walker zombies? It would make things a lot easier. Infected humans aren't that realistic anyway, plus they are weird. I don't understand the current zombies, they are not dead, but yet they survive the harsh environment as if they have super natural powers. So, why waste time trying to make them fit in the game, we might as well or better just turn them into dead zombies, instead of living infected?

3. I really would like the zombies take a lot more damage and make them the number ONE threat, and the bandits, disease, etc. second. I'd like the zombies be dead walkers and the only way to kill them should be a headshot. Otherwise it's too damn easy. I think they'd still be pretty easy to kill even when the game is finalized and stable.

4. I also think that reducing and making machine guns and ammo (all heavy military weapons, equipment, gear, etc.) down to very rare will reduce all the pointless KOS and believe it'll make the gameplay more balanced. Otherwise it feels like it's a Military War simulatution game. I'm not against KOS or PVP, but you get the idea.

This is not a suggestion, or proposition, just some thoughts I wanted to share. Maybe a humble "rant."

I believe that things like this have already been considered by the devs. The current zombies are just placeholders. I hope you didn't think that they would be at all the same in the final game.

Don't worry, the perfect zombie will be here soon.

1) I ask the same thing, but you have to remember: the current "zombies" are merely a PLACEHOLDER. New, improved "zombies" will come further down the line. I eventually hope to be able to do the same thing to zombies that we can do to players: wound them and make them bleed out, break their limbs, handcuff/bind them, etc

2)  Because "regular dead walker zombies", as you put them, are comical at best and annoying at worst. A horde of shamblers, no matter how large, is never that frightening, so long as you can briskly walk away from the horde.

3) Nope, they are "just" infected humans, so anything that will kill a human will kill them. If anything, both we (the players) and the zombies are too hardy: there is no way you should be able to shrug off a knife to the gut or a hammer to the shoulder.

4) HAHAHAHAHAHA. There were MILLIONS of AKM, SKS, Mosin 91/30, etc rifles made. They should not be rare. Want to know what should be rare? Ammo. So, you could have a rifle, but only a few rounds for it. Do you shoot that "zombie" coming for you, or do you stab it with your bayonet (and risk close combat, which is also way too easy and risk-free), and save the bullets for later?

Yes, that's what I thought too, but I just threw them in there alltogether. I don't mind the amount of guns. The ammo should be rare. That makes survival more fun and more challenging. The choices you have to make because of limited ammo. Edited by ScorePoint

lol well, generic term to get the idea across we can sometimes use the "machine guns," if we wanna get more specific and concrete then, fully automatic assault rifles would fit better? :)

"machineguns" and "assault rifle" are terms used by media usually to inflict fear to the public and try to convince them to support war against terrorism when the "machine guns" and "assault rifles" are just civilian semi automatic AR-15's and Saiga's.

Eh, i prefer to call weapons by specific names, but military weapons is fine for the forums
