so i saw this, and thought that it would be a fun thing to be able to make in dayz. maybe get a canonball in the barrel behind the cork and charge up the PSI.

this is EXACTLY the stuff we need in dayz. things you can make from everyday objects that become more useful. 

 

 

stick a fork into the cork for lethal force

 

 

also chernarus is basicly ukraine and not part of russia, and the soviet part is not relevant since everything east of berlin was soviet until like 1990. it's more of a 2015 ex-soviet rural area.

If not this than what about a potato gun, lord knows there are enough potatoes and fresh veggies we could use, might even be hilarious to find new ways to dispatch zeds or people. Trust me, you can have hours of fun with these things....well maybe not so fun for the dude getting a face full of spud

I really wish I could give you more beans, I would love a spud cannon or mortar in dayz. I think I will stop over to the local hardware store and get me a working model going tonight.

Hmm...crafted 'potato' guns could be useful.  Craft one from a pipe, fuel it with spraypaint or something else flamable (gas, high proof alchol, no pouring Kvass down the tube and lighting it), load either a suitable peice of produce, a can of food or soda, or even rocks wadded with rags

I mean at the very least you'd knock the target down if you didn't kill them.

No luck on finding the parts, coast was picked clean and I'm still trying to get the hang of how persistence works. I wonder if duct tape is a suitable replacement for all of the epoxy and other moving parts in this gun. Oh well guess I'll stick to sporter

Tried that as a youth, something about putting together a launcher, mixing it with some type of propellent, light and watch your new toy work. I grew up in a rural setting so we had to make our own fun and this provided endless hours of fun

Hmm I dunno, not sure what kind of velocity the devs have given a spud chucked by a player, I would imagine your tactics are a mere annoyance rather than effective defense. All the more reason for a potato gun!!!! Please Eugen hear our cries for improvised weaponry

In all seriousness can you knock a bandit out by throwing a spud at them and smacking them in the face? Sadly I've never tried this, always run or die. If this tactic works, man I have found a new way to troll people
