archamedes 238 Posted February 11, 2015 Got a couple of suggestions, not sure if any or all have been mentioned before, if they have then i guess the more people that ask may get the ball rolling so to speak. 1. Canned food should be rare. I mean come on its the apocalypse, these would be the first things to go. I hate walking into a small town and getting fully fed within minutes of spawning in. I think canned food should be ultra rare forcing players to actually use the horticulture, hunting and fishing feature. 2. Making fires using sticks instead of matches, going old school by rubbing them together. Its simple, a classic survival tactic and helps with survivalists who want to avoid using gear from towns. 3. player goes into a sleep animation when spawning out, and waking up when spawning in. Even better touch if done inside a tent. 4. Actually having proper recipes to mix food with and gain better energy when a full meal is crafted. Likes rice & beans, steak & potatoes, fruit salad & tomato soup. This would work better if it actually took a lot longer for your character to heal when you first get energized, or recover from wounds. Instead of eating a can of cold beans, actually get healthier if the beans are cooked and mixed with a variety of different recipes to make a proper meal. 5. Actually pull an ashwood stick from an ashwood tree instead of cutting it down with an axe (Mainly for survivalists who want to avoid using factory made tools) 6. Using hemp to make rope instead of finding rope in a garage to use as an alternate for a bow/improvised fishing rod

Rags! 1966 Posted February 11, 2015 1. Not necessarily. It depends on how long it took for people to become infected, and seeing as most of the looting you'll do is based on private homes and such, it's very believable that canned food is still around. Besides, Chernarus doesn't seem like it has an extremely thick or dense population. Plus, the density of items can now be changed at will by the developers, and persistence is the ultimate goal here. Item rarity and spawning isn't finished yet. 2. Yes. 3. Yes. 4. Yes. 5. Your character can't find a stick in the middle of the woods. You aren't possibly going to be able to find an ashwood stick on an ashwood tree. Don't be ridiculous. 6. Yes.
archamedes 238 Posted February 11, 2015 ok then have a slight chance of finding a stick in the woods when searching for kindling that can be used to craft a bow

Btw we can already make steak and potatoes in fact steak has saved my life from starvation and potatoes has saved me a lot as well(them zucchinis don't help).I think I'll try eating both at the same time(good fortune hopefully).
