ErichZann 28 Posted February 3, 2015 Hi, Does DayZ make any differences between different kind of walls / ceilings? The last times I died, it was always because someone shot me through something. Last time I was on the roof of one of these builtings that look a bit like a hospital, no idea what they are called... Anyway, it has a concrete ceiling, and I am pretty sure in real life you cant shoot through that with most guns, and surely not with any that is in the game. I can understand if that happens in a wooden shack, but a concrete ceiling of a building? Time before someone shot me through a pretty thick tree, which i think is also unrealistic. Its not that he shot at a tree i was standing behind, but he was directly behind a tree and shot through that, I was more than 50m away. Even if a bullet came through, it would loose a lot of power, and it would for sure deviate substantially from its original direction... So are these hacks? Or just glitches in the game? If you saw the bullets coming through the floor, that's pretty sweet, whether it's legit or not. But a 3rd party shooting you from a neighboring building seems more likely. It can be surprising when you die with no sound or anything, but that usually means it was a headshot. Lesson to be learned: don't stand still on the roof of a building in a city . gibonez 3633 Posted February 3, 2015 I have always suspected the bullet penetration was close to what is possible in Arma 2 so pretty much little to no terminal ballistics. Hi, nope, a friend of mine was downstairs as well and came to rescue me, he came in the room like a second after i got shot, heard the gun sound from that room (shotgun) the same second i died upstairs, so pretty sure I was shot through the ceiling. Belphegor (DayZ) 25 Posted February 4, 2015 i'm not sure but i think there is a hack that allows them to shoot and possibly see through walls. about 3 months ago i was playing on a low pop server with just a handfull of people in it. i was looting a building in the middle of nowhere, a single house surrounded with large open fields on most sides when i heard mosin shots in the distance (i'd say at least 200-300m) and bullets impacting near me. being unarmed i waited in the hallway with the stairs with my axe out, wondering why someone is shooting at the building instead of waiting for me to come out. meanwhile the guy was still shooting and i heard more bullet impact noises. then i got hit in the leg, followed by a headshot while i was standing on the stairway with no windows and a closed door. i got killed a few times after that, to much coincidence for a low pop server so i think it was the same hacker teleporting around since you were on a roof i'm also tempted to say the shot must have come from somewhere else, but as you can see it's possible Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

danfinger (DayZ) 14 Posted February 4, 2015 jamjar has a video of him getting shot through the metal corrugated walls of a warehouse. There were multiple assailants, but he had pretty good cover. anyway, they were unloading AK fire at him from below and from outside and he caught a bullet.
