Dayz Comic

Recommended Posts

Was thinking of putting together an unofficial DayZ comic. Here is the concept image for the first issue. What do you think?

Look pretty interesting! Make sure you stick to the ArmA 2 lore and surroundings, and the back history of the DayZ Mod.

yeah, I have already got quite a bit in my head for the base story, characters and how the story will pan out. Would love to get some input from the devs on this. I have already made a full 5 part comic for the pc game Frontier Elite from 1992 and it had a huge response. The last I heard, it had been downloaded over 150k times and even translated into 5 different languages, which was a big honor for me to be told.

I have read the "walking dead" series and there is so much that can be done with this genre.  If you have a compelling story line, plausible characters and great art... this could be amazing!  I will stay tuned and will most certainly read it if you create it.

I think a DayZ comic is long overdue :P. Though I like your art work it doesn't really say DayZ to me, if didn't have the words above it wouldn't stand out from any other zombie comic.

You shouldnt include a registered logo without having the permission from the owner of the trademark, for possible legal issues (editing background here).

Besides it looks too generic, nothing in the picture says 'dayz standalone'.

Hello there

Fan art is fine. Logo or not.

One only needs to worry about the logo if any income is being made anywhere along the line.

The BIS forums have info on monetisation, and links to those who need to be contacted if one has any queries.

Intellectual property is a tricky thing. A logo is a registered trademark, like 'Pipsi' or 'Notacola'.

So your statement is not right, one cant include any logo wherever without the owner of said trademark permission, fan art or not, the one's that does can be required to remove whatever that's causing the conflict, or get sued. Like the canned soup or Andy Warhol but that's a different story, as i said intellectual property is a tricky thing.

With this said, no company would be stupid enough to sue anyone (fanbase here) for something that's indirectly increasing their income.

II only mentioned the whole thing because... Well... Dont really know why, 'professional deformation' i guess.

Or for diffamation, or many other legal reasons.

Most likely i wont bring up the subject again.

Never give away for free the things you're good at, that's why i'm a manwhore.

I did pm Brian hicks on here and explained everything and assured him that no money or revenue would be generated from this, its pure fan art. I dont expect him to reply as he has enough to deal with, but it would be nice to gather his input on it

Hello there

Ive made a heap of fan art and to be honest, its all cool as long as no money is made etc.

That said I do live in a solid gold castle and throw lambos on the fire at regular intervals.
