Kind of like to leave 'em myself.

 

Have you guys found any written notes around? Do you leave 'em yourselves? This kind of stuff and player interaction its what keeps me coming back to the game.

yes I try to do it at least once per char. either i drop the note or carry it with me. killed myself with a note attached yday after diggin myself a garden between the two graves i found (was minutes before death). felt really weird lol.

Do notes stay now after restarts ?  I would write them all the time but then noticed after a Restart the page was blank :(   I'll start again if they stay. I like leaving a clue to my next location .

I found a note in a house in electro, there was a fire right next to the note, it read:

 

"they were here.. this is the fire.. they used to COOK MY BROTHER.. I ..I watched them as they pulled meat off of his dead, cooked limbs and eat it.. they almost saw me.. by the time you are reading this I have already ran up the main road north, past the fire station.. I'm going to settle down and set up camp in Staroye. Hurry.. I cant take this anymore.."

 

I made my way up there.. and found the poor bastard with another note

 

"If you are reading this.. then either someone took the note off of my dead corpse, or you are the first to see my lifeless body, I couldn't take it. I had found one.. one bullet for the magnum in my hands as we speak.."

 

He also gave me his steam name in the letter and I told him how I tracked down his body. We're good friends now.

I always leave behind notes. I usually wirte some lore and whatnot, trying to keep it as "realistic" as possible. Or sometimes to give directions to a stash on hidden loot (which I leave behind when I craft my Ghillie Suit)

I try to leave notes that took place as the situation was coming apart, a sort of diary, asking a specific person to meet at certain location, then at that location I'll leave another note about how the situation has gone to shit and how I had to move to another location.  I will sometimes include a rant about WHO or the CDC lying about the severity of the situation.  I wish there were public boards, in game, where we could post notes asking have you seen this or that person, warnings about where the disease is currently at it's worst, rumors about government crackdowns, massacres and checkpoints etc., etc.  And, of course, always some more sinister shit about Green Mountain.

 

Would be nice to have the ability to set up impromptu memorials, now that we have teddy bears in game that would be a perfect use for them...

Alot of my good friends who I play with, I met through leaving notes around with my steam ID attached. I heavily role play in any server, and leaving notes is a huge part of that. And we all know, come a game-wide persistence, notes and everything else will become so much cooler.

I've never found a note. Always get super excited when I see loose paper. :/

 

I want to start keeping a diary or something, as detailed and roleplay-ey as I can. My hope is that if somebody kills me on sight and reads it, it'll make them feel guilty. I feel bad whenever I kill somebody with good loot, even though I only kill when attacked. Just the number of hours they might well have spent collecting that (bearing in mind I play on a private, persistent server).

I *sometimes* leave notes, but I nearly always have a note on me in case I die or someone kills me. It's a note that basically welcomes whoever finds me to my gear unless of course they killed me, in which case the other part of it curses them and wishes harm to their genitals.
