Best patch to date! Having to survive off the land is amazing! I logged in with my fully geared "Sam Fisher" from 0.54, and began to starve and struggled to find food. I am currently living off of apples and berries.

My Sam Fisher inspired character. Obviously edited, but still; cool.

I voted "Give me a parachute" jokingly thinking it would be cool to have hang gliders like in Cube World (did anybody here play that game?) I am all for aerial transportation, but as stated above countless times; the time/player investment into fixing up a helicopter should be massive. Just imagine, rumour on your server spreads that there is finally a functioning chopper flying around. Countless fun and adventures could be had from that. My main concern is the size of the current Chernarus map. Considering a player on foot can travel from Kamenka to NWAF within 25 minutes; I question the need for aerial transportation. Unless of course the KM2 of Chernarus is expanded. (Maybe more islands S and E, with more land W and N?) Cheers, Act III

Hey, awesome thread! Several months ago I organized something very similar to this; only with 2 other buddies though. :( Back in 0.47(?) when Cernaya Polana was the newest town we had set up a "paintball" match just like yours. Location: 125 015 Car Lot. It makes for an AMAZING playing field that could easily yield 5-10 players. Plenty of cover and hiding spots to make for a fun match! I highly recommend this location for your upcoming event, friend! I wish you luck with this event, I unfortunately cannot come along. I request somebody to record and upload this! Stay warm, Act III

Ah, I'm the same way. I just feel better using the bandages. I am excited to see the medical system develop more in the future!
-
Good afternoon forum! As I do, I'm sure some of you prefer using Pristine medical bandages over self-made rags simply due to aesthetics. I am wondering if there is any difference between the two items in terms of how it affects your character? Do medical bandages provide more protection from the next hit, etc? I am almost certain the two items have identical use and purpose. I find it odd how with Bandages you get four uses out of the item, yet rags can stack up to 6. Disadvantage using the legitimate medical items seems a little odd. Has anybody tested this? Stay warm, Act III

Being 14 is the same as being 10. I had interest in adding you, but you seem a lil young.

Good man! I am glad to see other's taking it at a slow pace. Ever since the implementation of temperature systems I've only ever sprinted to escape combat/defend myself. Walking has countless benefits; you make less noise, you become a smaller target, you can see other moving objects easier and your character remains much healthier. I've learned to spend at least a couple hours in each major city before moving on. Otherwise DayZ simply becomes, run around, loot and hope to see players to shoot them.

Very nice stuff my friend! I assume you take photographs IRL? I am also a photographer, and oh my do I love some good DayZ photography! Kudos. The prison island shot is outstanding by.

Now that Ghillie Suits are underrated due to the overload of OREL uniforms at the Prison, here is my current character. KD: 2.00 (self defense)

What is the nicest thing you have done in DayZ

Nope! This was in Novy Sobor, my friend. -
Well considering that is how our eyes work in real life, seems to make sense; no? The iris will expose for the brightest areas by reducing its diameter, causing the lower exposed areas to become even more black. Just like a camera lens.

I like to limit myself to using the in-game walkie talkies as opposed to skype/ventrillo. As Odin Lowe stated, it adds a huge element of immersion into the game. It is cool because you can also send text messages with the walkie talkies. When you press "/" and type (as you would normally), it sends to other walkie-talkies if they're tuned into the same frequency.
