DayZ Different Characters

I was playing DayZ a few days ago and i was geared up pretty good but my character got wiped. I started again and today when i logged on i found something strange.

 

When you are at the main menu and you can see a picture of your character, mine shows me the character i had before it got wiped (sorry if it's hard to follow) Basically my character got wiped but is still showing up in the main menu.

 

If i could somehow get this character back it would be GREAT! Thanks!

Your character's items for the main screen are saved in a file locally upon exiting the server, if you do not respawn or if your game crashes upon exit the file may not be overwritten and will still display your previous character and items on the main screen, but the character is gone from the hive.

Sure you're not joining a private server or a first person only(or third person) server? 

 

You have a character for

-first person only servers.

-first and third person servers

-and every private server you start a new character

were you on a 1st person or 1st/3rd try logging into official servers (jimbos sausage fest or named servers like that dont tend to be)

Yes the character got wiped because my game crashed when i tried to exit a server
