therandomredstone 432 Posted November 29, 2014 (edited) Ok, so you should be able to do more with clothing, in DayZ.Here's an example: You find a black hoodie in a warehouse by the coast, you really like the hoodie, and its nighttime, you continue heading north along the highway. You spot a man getting robbed by two other people, that have chosen the path of the bandit. You, on the other hand, are a hero, and you will stop at nothing, to save this man and his belongings, you try to sneak up on the two players, but they spot you, and before you know it ,"You Are Dead" appears on your screen. And when you are dead they say, "sorry bro, your character was too bright." and you remember you were wearing ALL black, so the only thing bright would be your skin and hair. If you were able to put your hood on your head, you would've blended in more. Sorry for the long example, but here's all the detailed suggestions: ~ The ability to put your hood on your head. (you right click your currently equipped hoodie or raincoat, and click "put on hood".~The ability to raise up your sleeves. (lets say you are about fashion, you could lift your sleeves up, to have your forearms sticking out, uncovered by your sleeves)~The ability to cut off your sleeves entirely. (You drag a kitchen knife, bayonet, or machete to your hoodie, or raincoat, and it will say "Chop off Sleeves")~(Already suggested) The ability to layer clothing. you could wear a red striped T-shirt and a hoodie over, you just drag the shirt on top of the hoodie, or vice versa~Improvised Balaclava. you could have a machete and a sharp object, and when you hover your sharp object over your shirt or piece of clothing, it would say "make improvised balaclava" ~The ability to wear a shirt on your head. Enough said. It would be like a thicker version of the balaclava. If any of these suggestions are even considered to be added in the game. Let me tell you, the players would LOVE it. And all it would really be, in "coding language" I guess you could say, is pretty much just crafting. Except you only need one ingredient. You use a rope and burlap sack to make the courier bag, so you could use a "black hoodie" to make an "improvised hoodie with the hood on your head", exempt it would of course just be called "hoodie". Not much else to say, but c'mon guys. It is really simple, and it's cool! People could switch to more of a "ghost" group if they wanted to. It's just a straight up good suggestion. And the majority would agree with not only me, but each other! I'm just the one posting it here, but everyone has thought about it before, I can guarantee you that.Forum team, forward this to the Devs or somethin... ~Sincerely, your customers. Geckofrog7 1168 Posted November 29, 2014 (edited) Forum team, forward this to the Devs or somethin... ~Sincerely, your customers. I don't believe this is necessary to add to every suggestion post. xD Or really any of them. If something becomes popular enough, the devs will know about it. a_ruttle 199 Posted November 29, 2014 They've already spoken about hoods and stuff, the animations are a pain so they're not a priority atm, also worth bearing in mind that every new clothing state requires an entirely new model.
BeefBacon 1185 Posted November 30, 2014 (edited) I'll be disappointed if hoods don't make it in. Rolling up sleeves and so on would be neat and all, but I'm not too fussed. I'm all about the hoods. Layered clothing would be good, though, even if it's just a utility that makes swapping clothes easier. There's been few times where I've had to swap between a jacket and a t-shirt because I'm heating up and cooling down. Doesn't really make sense that I'd need to take off my t-shirt to put on a jacket, so it'd be nice if I could always wear a t-shirt underneath my clothing. irishroy 1347 Posted November 30, 2014 (edited) ripping out entire sleeves of shirts, jackets or cut off "legs" of pants. BeefBacon. As concerned as you are about not having hoods, I'm concerned about rolling up sleeves... :D puting up sleeves would add increase the Role-playability of a WildWest-gunslinger. and we all know: DayZ's true meaning is a cowboy-gunslinger-simulator during a Zombie-apocalypse.(Chest-holster, leather pimp shoes, leather-jacket/shirt, cowboy-hat, boar-skin-backpack, double barrel shotgun, Repeater/Winchester 92 and a Magnum) Edited November 30, 2014 by irishroy
