The sounds are just placeholders. Eugene said they are recording the actual vehicle later on.

My guess is that they'll be on experimental servers for some time. Even with the next stable push, who knows if they'll even be included. It all depends on how well they're functioning at the time. & from my experience, I'll tell you they are buggy as all hell at the moment.

All those crashes are coming down to one thing I think.. Ragdoll physics

 

Seems like it crashes when anything goes ragdoll, and stays crashed for your character until that body despawns, now allowing you to spawn in. 

 

It actually may be a somewhat easier fix to get vehicles working properly. Im gonna guess, tentatively that we might get lucky and see this in stable soon here.
