The People of DayZ (What Makes You Special?)

Recommended Posts

From everyone I met in my 1000+ hours in DayZ, you will meet so many kinds of people, and i don't mean heroes and bandits, but i mean all sorts of variation in how they act, how they play, they're worries and how they survive and thrive (or die and diminish, if that's your thing) So tell me, and the community what makes you unique from the rest.

(by the way guys, this isn't just about RP, it is also about how you really play DayZ, i only made mine more spicy by adding role play..)

basic format of how you should respond:

Name:

(Or what you like to call yourself)

In general, what do you consider yourself?

(Hero, Survivor, Bandit, RP (role play), Kos,(kill on sight).)

Explain in depth of what makes you, well, you.

(in a short paragraph readable by others)

~~~
~These are my personal play styles!~
~~~

Warlord Mosquito

Bandit (robberies)

I go around with my crew and shut down a populated city, we start to prey on people and trick them into having their stuff taken, we'll aim our weapons at them, and if they listen, they might lose their precious can of beans, but if they don't listen, they're getting the hide shot right off their carcass. We role around with about 5 or so guys, and take people, tag and release style, and let them live. Some people even thank you for robbing them, pretty ironic right? makes you think how bad the world is out there.

~~~
Eugene Finklesworth
RP
My name is Eugene Finklesworth, the most bullied kid in DayZ, i carry a think frame glasses, and tend to lose them a lot, needing the help of others. I'm not very strong, and usually get bullied for my lunch (a can of beans), i seek other's advice on how i should resolve the situation. I get pushed around, called a nerd, and would rather spend my time studying for that big algebra test, until the zombie apocalypse of course! Now Eugene is stuck with the survivors of Charnarus, and the infected, and not being able to fight, Eugene calls the assistance of others to fend off the infected, and the bullies that lurk Charnarus.
DeathByCrowbar
Lonewolf, Chaotic Neutral, general survivor
I'm a survivor and a journeyman. I've hit most of the map at one point or another, but after getting over my paranoia now more often seek human interaction. I've killed more than I've been killed, but rarely have I ever provoked the violence. Well, maybe once or twice after a few beers where I decided to take out some aggression after being double crossed or killed unfairly (such as by some evil stairs!) or been smited by a mystical being with the ability to teleport and float through the air. I'm yet to find a grenade. I enjoy chopping down random trees across roads or in towns. I prefer Tactical Bacon to anything else, that shiz is the bomb. I killed a few pigs just out of spite, I hope Shrub Rocketeer doesn't see this!
Butch Flowers
A loner, well established veteran of the apocalypse.
Somewhat sociopathic, hoarding obsessed veteran survivor in his senior years. I stalk the woods, cities, military encampments in hopes of savaging something useful. I search long and wide for useful tech and food, then bring it to my base where everything just keeps on piling up until I got no more room. While not being big on social grace, if I spot another survivor, I avoid them unless they look like they don't even have two beans to their name. Live and let live, I would help them get on their feet, provide them with whatever supplies I got in stock and stick around long enough to make sure they can survive on their own, then go back to the woods. If I see some jerk being up to no good, I make it my mission in life to end his. There is enough ugliness in this world as is, without having some idiot pointing his gun at the living. Sometimes when I am lonely I talk to Bob, he used to be my friend, but now he is a skull.
I typically play as a survivor/hero. Very rarely I may hunt people but that's only for pvp and I don't like to do it too much because I don't like to be a dick. I don't mind killing people, I just prefer to have a reason to do it. I'm not great at pvp. My internet connection is terrible and my frames aren't the best so I can't really compete. I do love a good close quarters shootout once in a while though. My best killstreak is 3. Terrible, I know. This was on one of my more bloodthirsty days. The first guy was some barely geared fool standing in the middle of Novo (I think? The NE town with the big church in the middle of the town square. I'm terrible with town names). I had lit glowsticks in the church to attract people while I waited for them to investigate so I could snipe them. The guy showed up at the church then stood dead still in front of it long enough for me to take him out with the Mosin.. The second guy was much more fun and actually came after me. I was in some small apartment building on the stairs and saw someone run by the window outside. I yelled at him then he turned around and burst through the door with a double barrel. I emptied my sks in his general direction, hitting him a few times but not killing him. I sprinted to the top of the stairs and drew my .357. He comes up the stairs and we blast each other. My legs are broken and I see something else run up the stairs so I crawl into a room, thinking it was his buddy or something. I then drew my 9mm pistol and emptied it into the thing chasing me. Turns out it was just a zombie haha. I was nearly dead and bleeding out so I bandaged and started back down the stairs. Found the guy dead on the steps. I was much better armed than him but he put up a good fight. The last guy was some fresh spawn standing in a firestation. Not sure if he was afk or desynced or what, but he didn't respond so he got blasted.
Sorry, got a bit off-topic there. But yeah, I usually prefer to help everyone I come across. I take big risks and being a nice guy often gets me killed but I don't mind. When I find someone who doesn't murder me as soon as they see me and we go on to have an adventure it makes all the past deaths worth it. I always try to carry a few pistols and spare ammo and mags so I can give them to fresh spawns when I find them.
                                                                                                                                Name: Kirby12352.
                                                                                                                                        Lone Wolf.
I usually survive by myself, unless I happen to find a friendly group, in which case I roll with them until I'm done playing or I get shot or split up from the group somehow. I usually stick to the woods when traveling. I don't tend to use roads, especially on the coast. I find high loot locations, watch them from afar for a while to see if I can see anyone, and then I sneak into the location, loot the buildings that have the best loot, and get out of there. I don't KOS. Usually when I see someone, I hide and try to judge their intentions. I usually never make contact if they have a weapon out or are heavily geared. If I do talk to someone, it's usually from somewhere that they can't see me. If I have someone suddenly run up to me with a weapon out, I shoot them. I'll give new spawns supplies, but never weapons.
The name is Cap'n.
I'm a survivor, a military man, a dying remnant, the last of our kind, and I carry out the authority of a vestigial empire.
My main objective is to cleanse the fatherland of this filth. My comrades have all been turned, killed, or simply deserted. I will not give up the fight, as I am a true soldier, and I carry the burden of the entire quarantine campaign on my back. My only true goal is to assist the remaining population and refugees, eliminate the hate plague, and kill the murdering rapist thieves that have taken over my homeland. I carry a service rifle and uniform, and I am the acting authority of the government. I once operated at the battalion level, then company, then platoon, dwindling into a meager fireteam. My closest compatriots have all either fallen or quit the fight. But I will not surrender. I search the lands, cleansing every sickened soul of their burden, giving food and aid to every fellow survivor in need, and finishing off the bandit dustmen who have raped and pillage Chernarus. Until the plague has been cleansed, the order restored, and rule of government has been returned, I shall not quit.
You may call me the remnant. I shall not quit until my job is done.
Name: Soldat Spurdo
Passive Bandit
Story: Soldat Spurdo Was the president of the Chernarus Defense Force anime club despite his lowly rank of Soldat and his several reprimands for "acquiring" and hoarding a high amount of spetznaz helmets,boots and gorka uniforms with the intent of equipping fellow club members. Young Spurdo abandoned his post with his fellow anime club members during the first stages of the outbreak to download and preserve their favorite animes and video games before the inevitable collapse of the internet. Spurdo and his colleges spend their time looking for exotic firearms like PM 63s and M4A1s and the elusive SMERSH vest, a once common piece of military equipment now worth it's weight in platinum after the Chernarussian Defense Force high command ordered all vests loaded onboard helicopters and shotdown for unknown reasons.
[pet]gerbil
What makes me me is my skill with the kill.  I play extremely cautious, but I play to kill.  I kill any geared player who does not immediately recognize who I am and bow down before me.  You might not know who I am, but I know me, and lemme tell you, I am a killer through and through.
For me, it has gotten to the point where the game and its players, they rarely if ever kill me.  The only things that have killed me in the longest time have been glitches, and hackers.
The cool thing is I am absolutely alright with that.  When hackers eventually kill me (and they do, eventually) I look at it as a way to gear back up, a temporary setback at best.
While I am on the topic of hackers, let me say first I have run across dozens and dozens, too many to remember at this point I think.  The funny thing is, I think most of those hackers, they are the guys who bitch and moan here and elsewhere about KOS, and how people aren't playing the game correctly.  It would certainly explain why 9 out of 10 hackers are absolute trash at PvP.  It would also explain why I am harassed more as a fully geared player than at any other time.  But it is cool you shitheads, because like I said, I don't count dying to hackers as a loss.  I look at it as a way to have a little more to do while I look for more people to kill.  You shitheads actually add to my experience.  Thanks.
But yeah, if you see [pet] in your server, and you are armed, be aware, we are looking for you, we will find you, and we will kill you.  We don't need your trash gear either, we will likely destroy it.  You see, Chernarus is OURS, and you are on our fucking lawn.  Prepare to die.
the Name's Sovetsky
PvP player/Opportunist/Bandit
Been making the rounds in chernarus even before the mod was a thing. These days, i have become somewhat bitter towards 'randoms' and anyone with any means of offense is considered a valid threat. forunately; i have taken to exploiting these individuals for my own gains. let these poor fools do the scavenging and looting then, when the opportunity presents it's self, ambush and take anything i please from a corpse. Together with my wife and a few misfits we have known from other games for several years, we roam the countryside benefiting from other's misfortunes ;)
