This is one of those little immersive reasons I prefer private hives.

 

Glad to see how many ways there are to break a lock as IRL without tools you could get through most wooden doors with some effort, with something like an axe very quickly. Dunno how I feel about shooting them, sure works in Hollywood but whats a 1cm wide hole in a door going to actually do? Nothings turning the barrel and releasing the whatever its called that actually locks the door. I can only assume that they are going for the destroying the wood around the barrel so either the barrel and (gonna call it) pin all falls out, or separating the wood so the door can swing free while some is still attached to the frame. Either way it should take quite a bit of shooting......for the one shot is it poss that if someone shot a lock barrel the kinetic force could rip the whole lock out?

 

I think with the punching thing they are just testing the system, we will probs see a new animation for the job later but for now they just use punching....could this mean a shoulder barge melle attack aswell for knocking zeds and players down??? I hope so :)

Don't get me wrong Karma, I prefer private shards over public ones. My "  :( " was in reference to someone suggesting to switch servers upon relogging in a locked house. Which you couldn't do given it's the only server on the shard.

It takes 'bout ~100 punches or 1 hit with any melee weapon pretty much to unlock, at least at the moment, gotta test shooting at the locked door yet but i've read that one shot should do, i assume with any weapon.

Someone tried to do this to me at the Chernobyl Police Station two days ago, I axed the door and it popped right open with one hit. I made my escape and am pretty sure the guy who tried it claims I combat logged, but I didn't, I stayed on for some time after that, even hit Balota Field.

hasnt happened to me, ive only just recently started having a regular server i play on daily.

but after around 100 punches doors come open.
gunshots should always open doors, probably just a glitch, it is the first iteration of barricading afterall

my friend got locked in a room cos when he used his lockpick it broke...he had to switch servers
