pale1776 375 Posted November 11, 2014 So I was playin TWD Survival Instinct, and I loved parkin the car and moving the roadblocks. Then I thought it woupd be a great idea for DayZ.Imagine driving down the road, nd you see a horde of zombies on the highway ahead (when their not the ghost of Usain Bolt with laser guided heatseekers) but to your right on a dirt road is a 3 car wreck. So should you drive through the horde and risk it, or get out and push the car off the road? They would be dynamic as well as permanent wrecks. Thoughts? IkaikaKekai 1957 Posted November 11, 2014 They had permanent wrecks in the mod. They were very annoying considering the vehicle physics at the time. if you went over most bridges with an ATV you were very likely to explode, I tapped a road sign once with a UAZ, noticed I was stuck and before I could finish saying "WTF?" Boom. It was fun driving a bus at full speed through Vybor at times though while getting shot at. In the mod in most cases it was simpler to just go around a town even if you had something that performed like piss off road. Some sort of roadblocks would be welcome again though I doubt we'd be able to move them.

You'd be driving (or driven) through a cluttered road and suddenly, shoop, the car clips 10 meters further than it should, hits a small pile of trash and instantly explodes in a ball of fire... fun times.

Were never able to reproduce it and even tried different methods of implementing the objects, but it was still happening for some people. I never experienced it myself, though. Other than that: it may have been a bit over the top in the mod, but I would still love some sort of variety in SA. As long as they're not as random as Epoch did it, as that mostly just resulted in the most random results with clipping-issues. I'd be thinking more along the lines of a "POI"-style approach with a preset amount of objects taken from a list that are distributed evenly across the map. This would be preassembled by a Mapmaker to make sure it's not halfway in a building. Edited November 11, 2014 by kichilron
