But why leave the flash lights and batteries, I can think of at least few ways to use those.

So I think that the bodies should eventually stick around until restart or burrying.. and when you check pulse it should until the body is gone say how they died  "..unknown entity (or better yet it still says the name) is cold to the touch and died from .." :

 

"gunshot wounds" "blunt trauma to the head" "face eaten off" "stabbed to death" "dismembered" etc.

 

Like it is now but richer, deeper, and make it enjoyable to find out how people died that you come across..

That would be awesome. "Still warm to the touch, and died from gunshot"

That could add to the intensity.
