I'd collect a fully equipped AKM or AK101 and lots of ammo

People join a certain server and have to eliminate each other while trying to reach a location(for example: the most north militairy prison in the game(north of NWAF)).
The one who reaches it gets a reward, like the AKMs etc. 

That way we'd have a huge combat zone and people fighting for a reward at a certain location, wouldn't that be one of the most epic stuff ever?

Wouldn't be much fighting going on, I'd say... People will just sprint straight towards the endzone. It'd be better if you actually made it last man standing.

I love this idea, but what about a version of the "hunger games" which is closer to the movies/books?

 

First you'd need some people who "guard" the "games" and make sure nobody leaves the "arena" (e.g. north-west airfield). They should have a certain dress code (e.g. yellow raincoat). As a preperation for the arena the guards should hide some weapons on the airfield, so that there is a reason to explore the airfield.

 

So everyone who wants to participate goes to the arena and drops everything they have but their basic clothing (maybe even only t-shirt, jeans and sneakers).

As soon as you say on which server you'll host the "game", everbody joins that server and groups up in a big circle (like in hunger games) on the runway. In the center of the circle the "guards" place some melee weapons, supplies, cloths and ammunition.

 

To start the DayZ-hunger-games one guard fires into the air (or some other signal) and from that point on everything is allowed except leaving the arena (airfield walls), attacking the guards or combat logging.

 

Last one standing wins

 

It's probably hard to "enforce" the rules, we'd just have to rely on everybodys fair play.

So what do you think?

That, my son, seems incredibly well thought of, however, it would take extreme co-operation and some serious preparation.

Plus, NWAF is not really much of a well position to fight in my opinion, since its just one side with buildings, other one with fewer buildings and a huge forest

Towns have more variety in my opinion but it would be cool to give it a try. People should be able to bring their own gear though, just bring in your own gear, first shot fired is there to get to a nice hiding spot, second shot fired is a start sign

 

no particular dresscode except for guards wielding blue helmets or something else thats flashy

I am not familiar with Hunger Games (book or movie) but it sounds a lot like the comic book episode of Strontium Dog called "The Killing". Except there everyone could bring 2 weapons of choice.

Anyone want to put a ten pound bet that this will be made by a modder in the future. It will be so much better in this game then arma though because think of the potential with actual hunting and bows and traps and stuff, you could have the games go on for a couple of in game days, where you have to hunt with bows to eat to stay quite and gear is really hard to come by, my imagination is running wild with the possibilities, i can not wait for modders to get their hands on this game.

It already is like hunger games, in some respects. It would be cool if there would be more server options were you could set something like that up, as feature of the game. Almost like a type of server you log into.

When you get lucky, you get into an intense firefight indeed, but there is no reward to it nor is the fight completely assured. Some take off, others log off, while this would enforce battles in any kind, perhaps a pity makarov trying to snatch a mosin and stuff

Sometimes clans will fight each other or even do joint ops, right now. But it would cool down the road to were they have maybe a quick fight mode, or something like hunger games, as like a side thing we could do.

A great idea and already being done as a mod in Arma 3 and I think it's quite popular. YouTube Arma 3 Hunger a Games or a Battle Royale as someone else mentioned. To be honest it's not exactly the same idea as the hunger games but it's still a sweet mod! Would love to see it in SA.

Yeah, NWAF was just a random location I picked, cities seem to fit better. Well without a mod enforcing the rules, more preperation is necessary. But I think the ammount of preparation is not that much. You could name a location a day before the games start so everyone can go there. And the next day you name a server everybody joins. The rest is cake.

 

The success mainly depends on how good everyone sticks to the rules. If some jerk shows up with a gun to kill everyone, it's going to be really stupid.

Not gonna work. I would expect that after a year modders will create a good BR mod fro DayZ SA.
