Lionelpunishment1 2 Posted October 27, 2014 Where I am or which direction to head once I've spawned. I keep die in either starvation or hyperthermia. 1 time I went the right way and made it to Cherno but was killed instantly for no reason, I had nothing, canned over the head with a shovel after runnin 30 mins with a broken arm lol. I need a partner or some help :-)
Kirby12352 67 Posted October 27, 2014 Usually the best thing to do is do a quick sweep in nearby buildings for food and water, and a weapon if you can find one. After that, head inland. Most bandits tend to stick to the coast to hunt new spawns. And yes, you getting killed from a guy who probably had no reason to kill you is unfortunately much more common than I'd like it to be. I'm fine with people doing that, but I'd like it if more people did things like rob people, rather than just shoot everyone they see like they do in COD. In terms of direction once you've spawned, there's really no right or wrong way to go. It's more a case of how much gear you have, how much experience with PvP you have, and if you're willing to run into quite a bit of trouble from bandits. Usually the smartest thing for a new spawn to do is avoid the coast as much as possible.

dedoolb 157 Posted October 27, 2014 The instant you spawn:1. Pick up a shovel/hoe/axe for self-defense if possible.2. Like Kirby12352 said, do a quick sweep for food and water.3. Run away from the ocean. Put the water to your back and head inland. Don't haul ass running unless you have food and water to replace rapidly lost energy; pace yourself until you find a small town. As things stand now, you have a better chance of finding what you need away from the coast.

dedoolb 157 Posted October 28, 2014 Haha. Define immersion, ya know.No matter how many respawns I go through, I play as if my new map-less character has at least seen a torn map, giving s/he an idea of where to go.Kinda reconciling my knowledge of Chernarus with my character's immediate run inland, if that makes sense.
