IymSexy (DayZ) 0 Posted October 27, 2014 To start off, ive put this in this forum twice already. Yes the correct mic is selected. Yes im pressing the correct button. Yes the mic works with other programs such as skype. Problem- When i try to talk to someone in-game, they say they can hear me for about 1-2 seconds and then they cant hear me anymore. Also when i try to talk in game it messes up skype and nobody in my skype call can hear me. I know that the in-game voice is working because i tested it with my buddy (by talking in-game to him) and he can hear me for one second before it goes blank. This is a very tough issue because it often results in the death of me because i cant respond or talk to people (without typing). (ive already tried re-installing)

Steak and Potatoes 13480 Posted October 27, 2014 If players can here you in-game then it fades you can try your steam mic device settings to adjust to proper sensitivity etc then adjust ingame. Launch steam as admin.Select your steam tab on the top left corner.Select settings.Select voice.Ensure your mic device, detection and volumes are set properly.Close Steam and restart as admin.Launch DayZ.Select configure.Select audio.Select input volume.Select auto adjust or simply configure the bar so its higher then lower for increased sensitivity.//\\Report Back//\\ Regards, Steak. IymSexy (DayZ) 0 Posted October 27, 2014 I cant even restart/power down my computer afterwards. No programs work after i attempt to talk in game. The only way to shut down mymcomputer is to flip off the power supply switch.

What OS? A quick overview of your system would be useful to identify what might be going wrong. Are you using a regular jack mic, or a USB?Other than Skype, are you using your mic with anything else? Teamspeak/vent etc? You could have a hardware problem, or a driver issue. It is a lot more likely to be an issue with your system than with DayZ, particularly with it causing skype and your whole pc to crash.
jwilson200695 0 Posted July 30, 2022 Did anyone find a fix to this issue? Cause I basically have the same issue. For some reason no one in game can hear me. I have been working on trying to fix the issue for several days now. My mic (Blue Yeti and also my heaset mic) both work in everything else (discord, skype, other games, etc.) but WILL NOT work in DayZ. What's weird is the headset is picking up sound, but no one can hear me when I try using it as the default mic. I switched to and then back and then to it several different times between it and the Blue Yeti because I literally cannot figure out the issue. I have uninstalled both DayZ and Steam, twice, hoping it work fix the issue, but it obviously didn't. I am almost to the point that I will pay whoever can fix the issue because it is super frustrating. The last time I played DayZ 6-9 months ago) it worked fine. I hope someone can help because I really want to get back into DayZ but without other players being able to hear me it's pretty much useless.
David MacWhinnie 0 Posted August 3, 2022 I am having the same issue. The last time my mic worked was on June 28th. I had no issue prior to this date and then all of a sudden it stopped working. My mic works on every other application and game I play. I've tried all the basic tests and troubleshooting steps out there on the web but nothing seems to fix. I've tried, Uninstalling / Reinstalling Updating drivers Validating DayZ Files through Steam Default Microphone and Sound Setting checks Disabled Virus Protection & Firewall and more It's very hard to play the game as a mute as it takes away from the gameplay.
