leviski 2152 Posted October 27, 2014 (edited) so the question is simple. Will we ever see that look to our gear that isn't uniformed and clean? Like how everyone looks in the Metro games Or how the people in the game The Division. that Rugged, Loose fit look, and one day do you think we will see guns worn in a more natural manner? not glued to our bodies in a static fashion. Internet is being terribly slow, so ive put up three four pictures for now. Edited October 27, 2014 by leviski
Mookie (original) 799 Posted October 27, 2014 You can always go and get your kit beaten up by Zs if you want it to be worn/damaged/badly damaged and look progressively more 'natural'. I would like more options for burlapping or camo'ing up guns though. If you can do it to a Mosin, why not to the others?

If you can do it to a Mosin, why not to the others?Well im talking about the ripped up look, im talking about things looking less uniformed and clean, even damaged stuff still looks nice and uniformed. Im all for burlaping more stuff however. the way you wear your backpack and weapons is what really does it for me, I hate how its glued to one spot
klesh 2423 Posted October 27, 2014 Don't make me look up the examples you presented. Show them.
Bororm 1156 Posted October 27, 2014 Not really sure what you're talking about, there was a point where the mosin especially wobbled all over on your back. I dunno if they've changed that since though. Worn clothes do look worn. Do you want physics for backpacks or something? It would be cool but it's a lot of extra work and would probably impact performance quite a bit. Typically if you're travelling long distances you want your pack strapped tight as possible any ways. Have you tried the leather bag? It looks super gross the way it wiggles (a side effect of what you're talking about I think, how it conforms to the character) =P

klesh 2423 Posted October 27, 2014 I think your pictures would qualify as "worn" status in DayZ. Unfortunately, it looks like Pristine and Worn share the same texture, while Damaged and Badly-Damaged each get their own texture set.It would be nice to have Worn be this "dirty" look, while still allowing for Pristine looking clothes. Imagine, for instance, looting someones dresser with clean folded clothes in it.
TheWizard14 372 Posted October 27, 2014 In the future, the "Prestine" and "Worn" set should definitely have the textures that the current "damaged" status texture has. It just looks WAY too clean and untouched, as if it came right out of the factory when you found it. By the way, I think that guns should also take damage if you shoot them because they are always prestine when you look them off a dead body.

Clean and untouched, as if it came right out of the factory is the very definition of the word Pristine though. pris·tineˈprisˌtēn,priˈstēn/adjectiveadjective: pristinein its original condition; unspoiled."ppristine copies of an early magazine"clean and fresh as if new; spotless."a pristine white shirt" Worn should not look Pristine as it does now. It should look worn, dirty and stained, but not damaged in any way.

The difference between pristine and worn should be 100% aesthetic and the vast majority of items in DayZ should be worn though IMO.

Mos1ey 6301 Posted October 27, 2014 But but but my beloved pristine rotten banana :( Your pristine rotten banana would be exactly the same as it is now. My point was that item conditions should function as follows... Pristine - This item is in perfect condition.Worn - This item will function perfectly, but show signs of physical wear.Damaged - This item will show further signs of physical wear. The function of the item will also begin to be affected.Badly damaged - This item will be even further physically damaged. It will barely function.Ruined - This item is completely ruined and cannot be used.

Everything looks so freaking awesome.

I pretty much never used any weapon other than it, especially with the bayonet : )
leviski 2152 Posted October 27, 2014 I just want some more geared out looking options, and a better weapon holding system.
Sirwarriant12 94 Posted November 3, 2014 All of the gear looks very practical in the Metro games as well and you have a nice mix of civilian like with bandits and people like Khan then the more military look like you see with the Spartans, Reds and Reich then a nice combination of civilian and military with things like stalkers or scouts. Another game I would like to see some armour and clothing from or at least similar to it is the S.T.A.L.K.E.R series.
