anderswhk 23 Posted October 24, 2014 I always found that using bumpkeys is a lot easier. Not as much as an art, but easier (and noisier)
OrganGrinder 89 Posted October 24, 2014 The success rate should be determined by the condition of the lock-picking tool itself: Pristine - 85% chance of successWorn - 70% chance of successDamaged - 50% chance of successBadly Damaged - 25% chance of successRuined - Nope. Or just implement a virtual 20-sided dice and adjust the rolled value based on the player's agility :P
kakysas666 191 Posted October 24, 2014 (edited) Oh you say you pick locks? Edited October 24, 2014 by MaxRain
blunce 991 Posted October 24, 2014 Or just implement a virtual 20-sided dice and adjust the rolled value based on the player's agility :P Well in all fairness, the amount of food that you 'spill' when opening cans improperly is percentage based. So such a system that I suggested wouldn't be unfamiliar to DayZ. ;) I love those dice pieces<

That would be a great way to implement the feature.
ob1korobi 125 Posted October 24, 2014 Yea, I know its easy to get carried away but I didn't ever mean it should take the time to call a locksmith, NOT have your AAA card on you, have to call your wife at the office to get the number on her companion card, get the lock picked, gain access only to be shot. I just meant it should take longer than just a mouse scroll and hitting F. 15 seconds is good.
rybec 339 Posted October 25, 2014 Functionality > RealismAlso would this not train kids to start trying to break into their fathers safe or something? It'd already be teaching children the best way to survive the happening is to murder everyone you meet and take anything off their bodies. Furtherado 100 Posted October 25, 2014 Wouldn`t a system like the one in elder scrolls oblivion do the trick?
Etherimp 1323 Posted October 25, 2014 (edited) This is what I carry on my key ring. Technically it's 2 tools... Edited October 25, 2014 by Etherimp
Whyherro123 2283 Posted October 25, 2014 If anything, I would like to see the "Fallout 3" style lockicking implemented. That was cool.
blackberrygoo 1416 Posted October 25, 2014 Good idea ! But I have to say I feel as though this is already planned , every feature added is a placeholder generally so I'm not really expecting the lock picking to stay simple ... Glad to know you're adept at Lockpicking though :) .
Judopunch 523 Posted October 26, 2014 Functionality > RealismAlso would this not train kids to start trying to break into their fathers safe or something?Rated M for mature. I mean, did you even think about this before you posted? We shoot people in the knees and take their pants off. Then we poison them by force-feeding them bananas and your worried about lockpicks -_-
