Next I gathered the patience to try again, spend a few hours looting and running around, server restarts, character randomly disappears, suddenly I have to start all over?

Hope it won't be like that once its officially released. I really dislike the running. If only we could choose a spawn spot until it was officially released

That's why I've tried the game, checked some features and now I am just waiting for new updates and stability.

Guess what mate? You gotta get along with it.

 

After finding an M4yesterday, I found one today again, I also found a skull balaclava. I relog and my character is gone.

 

Before finding that M4 (same character tho) I dropped all my stuff at a persistent server hoping they would be there, guess what I'm now back and half of them are gone.

Whilst we are in this part of development there may well be times where the game is completely broken and unplayable.

 

Now once we are fully "released" many of your issues should be solved but running is always going to be an integral part of the game.
