Hunger/Starvation System Idea

i think what they Need is to Keep you Alive Longer (more Realistic) as in Starvation you Deteriorate and starvation is a Slow Death
(People Can Go a long time Before Dropping Dead from Starvation) But Currently not even a accelerated in-game Day

rather than Run till you Drop Dead Starvation id Rather Be Sluggish and Have a Possibility to Survive because your Body Kind of Has a System of wanting to Keep you Alive by Shutting Down Slowly rather than Burn Max and a Sudden Pop/Drop Like a Light Bulb = Death

my Suggestion is

Energized-energized-(blank) = Sprint
Hungry-hungry-Hungry = no Sprint (can Still Jog)
Starving = no Jog+Shaky Aiming But Has extremely Long Duration

Starving to Death = Deteriorates to Crawling (Like Broken legs) Then Comes the BloodLoss/Vision Deteroration and Eventual Death

that Would Make the Game a Bit More realistic in Terms of Starvation While Maintaining a Need for Food having Benifits to Being well Fed
and you Have a Chance at Fighting Back From Hunger and Having a Story/Survival Experiance)

Rather than a
Run no Food-Run No Food-repeat till "You are Dead"

Since thats not How Survival Works in Real Life
There Should be more to it than "Sprint or Die"

what Does everyone think is that a Good Solution to Food Need/Starvation Realism? ^_^

It's simple, it seems like it'd be pretty easy to implement, and it beats being perfectly "healthy" till you die, so yeah, I'm in.

I agree. Having this will tell you how hungry you are, in addition to being more realistic than being able to sprint for miles before dying.

Yes but with a few changes. I think there should be a curve rather than "you are hungry. You were sprinting 5 seconds ago but now you have to jog". There should be a gradual curve where sprinting is slowed down to become the same speed as jogging. The same then happens with jogging, where jogging gradually becomes the same speed as walking. I'd also propose that the player should fall to the ground only in the last, say, 60 seconds. There's been a couple of times where I've found food when starving to death, and it feels great to achieve that. forcing players to crawl around for a few minutes while they starve to death wouldn't be much fun. But, as I said, falling down in the last 30 - 60 seconds could be cool.

 

Could also have energy burned faster the more hungry you are, meaning that sprinting when hungry might not be the best idea. Or you could do it the other way round and burn energy faster the more energised you are, otherwise players can just pack of bag of rice down their throats and Usain Bolt it for the next 30 minutes. I think players should be encouraged to store food rather than eating in bulk every hour.

I like your ideas but I dont think you can reduce a player to crawling for the last suggestion of the thread. Regardless, pretty tight ideas.. some of this could be pending for one day cause it makes sense

Was thinking of it in Terms of Like when  People Haven't Eaten in extremely Long Time they Begin Becoming to Weak to Stand Having Loss of  Balance Becoming More reliant on others

Was More thinking it in Terms of a Final Last minutes Struggle

Still think Starvation Before hand would Take a Very Long time again a Real Person Can Go Weeks Without Food Before eventual Death

Was thinking in terms of the Game you would Have already reached well beyond any amount of time you were given currently before Deteriorating to the Final Stage

Starving to Death should Be after you Have not Found food for a Very long time during Starvation and deteriorates as your Last Few Minutes Just as a Final Nail in your Coffin type thing

Letting you Know you Failed and your Lights Going Dim and your Dying while only Hoping that Someone Comes by First and Saves you in your Final Struggle

that Would Be Better if they Can do that ^_^

Was trying to Kind of Keep it realy Easy in the realm of whats Possible with their Current Build and easy to Add without Having to add to Much Extra Scripting then Maybe they Could Improve on it Later

Something Like your Saying Would Be awesome though for sure ^_^
