how does the rangefinder work?

Recommended Posts

I found a rangefinder in experimental, but there are no numbers or signs. How is it used correctly?

The rangefinder, while currently broken, would work by sending some kind of a sensor out towards the pointed object to return a number, I think it may be broken due to something in the model itself blocking the laser-type sensor from getting anywhere or as you mentioned no variables are appearing, i'm sure it's a HUD problem of some kind. This might be fixed soon though.

I found one in Kamyshovo.  Placed a new Battery in it.   It was not functional.  Like Hasi said, it's currently bugged.

Rangefinders work by sending out a laser to the target.  The light will bounce off the target and back to the rangefinder.  The time it takes for the light to reach the target and back to the rangefinder allows you to calculate distance as we know the speed of light and time. distance=speed/time

Put the range finder on top of a stack of papers.... the papers will not blow away.
