Jfiles 439 Posted October 8, 2014 First off, before i say anything, I do not support this. Now that that is over with. I think it isn't right to have it, DayZ is our story. Our "mental health" should be ours, not the decision a game makes for me after I do some bad things. Granted, yes, we need a negative thing to maybe slightly slow down the kos, but then again, we can never completely stop it. but as I mentioned before it is our story. The real players will feel guilty for any actions they do. Such as killing somebody who had just spawned and said freindly! They are the people who are going to feel bad, yes, we have COD players who feel that killing is the game. When the game turns to more of a survival game as it already is (temp system) it will slow down things like that. It will filter out people like that because COD players wont waste their time to stay healthy and warm to just get a cheap thrill. But again, this is my opinion, feel free to disagree or even leave some feedback with your opinion and what may be wrong with what my thought process is. -J
boneboys 7988 Posted October 8, 2014 What are you on about and why did you post this in off-topic ?I'll give you the chance to explain.
gannon46 788 Posted October 8, 2014 I didn't think they would ever add a mental system doesn't seem to fit this game like it would others. and as for folks feeling bad hell there lucky to not shoot themselves for laughs. we all want the COD style of player gone but with server hopping and other exploits its still to easy and quick to get high grade gear and go into a full pop and get into engagements.I'm starting to see this game having 2 types of survivors, one will be the survivalist who's challenge is how many days his toon can last off of the land, then there's the second who wants PVP 24/7stays in major cities and towns just to get into trouble and in these 2 things I think you actually have some realism. I think if shit hit the fan you'd have those 2 types of folks ones who survive based on knowledge of the land and the anarchist who wants to burn down the local police station and gets his food/materials from folks and kills a bunch of people. The ones in between just die because they are to busy trying to charge their I-phone. I'm sure I'm wrong but I don't care that's how I perceive this game it'll change from time to time but there will always be the murderers and the survivalist. Jfiles 439 Posted October 8, 2014 What are you on about and why did you post this in off-topic ?I'll give you the chance to explain.Ok, first off, I found this off topic. Didnt really seem to fit some of the criteria of the others topics, but, people want a mental health system, basically, having an affect of killing the people around you. I cannot remember if rocket denied or accepted this kinda thing, but I was talking about how going insane because of killing other players is not what people should want. DayZ is meant to be our story, created by us, our feelings ours, not some game that decides we are crazy.
Jfiles 439 Posted October 8, 2014 -Snip-I really only posted this because I had heard some people on streams last night talking about mental health should be in the game, and I didn't know who was with it or not. So I made a post about it.
boneboys 7988 Posted October 8, 2014 Ah ok, thanks for the explication, I think this will be ok in DayZ General D. Wouldn't happen to be a cannibal by any chance would you ?There is some serious discussion that may be of interest to you. Moved
thznutz 112 Posted October 9, 2014 sounds great...maybe the game could make us go to church and confess our virtual sins as well...please no "mental health" system as i'm sure it would only serve to remove the player from the experience further, unless we are after something of a morality simulator. not a cannibal (quite the discussion), and still don't care if child zombies are implemented.... Grundlesmuggler 41 Posted October 9, 2014 Kind of a stretch to be thinking that deep in character status. Developing that before some other more community driven ideas could be a bad move.

I could see walking into a house and a kid zed crawls from under the bed.

grindstone50k 208 Posted October 9, 2014 People who think that a "mental health" system should be in the game never had to spit in their hands and get dirty once in their lives.
