Yes, this is exactly like in the mod. I guess they left it in just as a memorial just like the ladder in the firehouse.

That sweet gold has been there a long time, back in the mods early days you used to hit that spot on your way out of town and see loads of tents.  It was like a armory.

I've submitted a few bug reports for incorrect road signs as well, and I'm guessing they've been wrong since Arma 2. They're the ones that direct you at an intersection (left, right, straight, etc.). Several of the ones I've found in the southwest part of the map point the wrong direction :p
