IkaikaKekai 1957 Posted September 22, 2014 I like the idea, but it needs to be where you can't eat while running/sprinting, if anything walk slower while eating/drinking than normal walk speed (Not much slower, like 95% speed instead of full walk speed). But if you are say eating or drinking while in a full sprint you have a good chance to spill some or choke (I think we consume 10 or 20% of a canteen when we drink, a spill would say drain some odd number from the canteen and you'd only 'drink' a random number lower than what you spilled, and possibly get your shirt damp. 1 Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
chompster 171 Posted September 22, 2014 (edited) Doing any kind of action while walking/running has always been an issue with games on the Arma engine. it's a miracle they managed to get switching weapon while moving to work. but as you can see it's actually just another static animation as when you let go your character keeps walking while switching. So either they do add it and it'll be like switching weapons (you keep walking regardless of pressing W or not) or they don't. I think the current walk speed is just fine though, as it's already slower than my real life walking pace. /\ I don't think adding "sprint eating" is really necessary and I think the repercussions for spring eating are going too far. chepaco3290 59 Posted September 22, 2014 This seems to be an issue with ALOT of games. I've played many games where players were not able to perform an action while moving. In one particular game, this issue was raised and the developers posted on the forums that to give us that capability requires an exuberant amount of coding and engine-work. I don't anything about that, but apparently it's a big undertaking... At least that's what some game developers say. Perhaps someone more computer literate can explain. Players that eat & drink while walking are likely traveling a decent distance, & I imagine OP's idea is focused around scenarios such as this. & I'm sure this is where the idea stems from -- being able to eat & drink while traveling as opposed to eating & drinking before traveling. It's more of an issue when switching weapons I'd say. Pulling out your primary & being forced to continue walking while in a heated close-quarters gun fight where precision is key is where this bug poses more of a problem. 1 Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
