You need to avoid all contact with ppl when your a fresh spawn ESPECIALLY ones that are armed until you become more seasoned and can get all the gear you need to counter an attack. You didn't tell us where you were at the time. If its anyplace with high grade military items or weapons no wonder. Even places with police stations can be considered medium to high grade depending on luck. Next time start looking in open barns and EVEN on top of industrial buildings. I went on one just to check and i found a mosin and a few other items. So there are definitely ways you can gear up fast it just takes some exploring and less socializing.

Found the helmet in the warehouse with the 2 big blue doors, and the visor in the barn with the wooden stairs you can go up on both sides.

 

threw it away somewhere in a field though. Felt out of place wearing cargo pants and hoody (simple look i was going for, average survivor-ish)

Well to be honest there would be no reason to him to go back to military spawns unless his basic clothing was damaged or he needed Nato ammo now that he has an M4. All thats left for him to do is kill new spawns and chopper hunt. Sad but true at least how i see it from his side. However i like going everywhere and i always try to talk with ppl no matter what but when a guys pointing a gun at you while your trying to talk you got every right to try and fight back. Even fresh spawns can be dangerous if you let them go. So he probably saw you as a potential threat more than anything else. Thats why you try to stay out of those big cities until your better armed and have some Binoculars to scout places out a little before entering.

 

In fact if you see some one before they see you don't even talk just get the hell out even if they spot you and just keep running.

Helmet looks good, although I wish the visor was the other version, which is mostly all metal with a slit for viewing. Can you open an close the visors?

helmet spawns @ barracks and visor in the bins up in firestation. 

 

and gasmask in barracks. works well.

Yep, they look quite good.

I had a really lucky spawn at riffy. Got a hunters pack, brown pants, olive tactical shirt, sks, magnum, shotgun and loads of food from the ship. Then ran over to NE and found the head gear. No ammo though haha.

It's the MASKA helmet. It just has the riot visor instead of the metal one (which was really dissapointing for me :( )

How the hell did you die to hypothermia? Were you not squeezing water out of your clothing? It keeps you from getting deathly cold. You shouldn't be dying from that stuff at all. XD

Dont go with anything but a Garden Hoe untill you can find an axe. 2 solid hits to a zed and its down.That and strafing around in a circle until a blow hits usually leaves me with very little damaged gear. Just do that and you will be fine.

 

You want the best weapons you can obtain for melee combat anything else is fubar and you just need to outrun them until you can find better.

I really hope they add the metal visor in, maybe add a visibility penalty but give it more protection. Also is there an option to flip the visor up or no?

 

Looks much better than the riot version imo

What, freshspawn hunting is all there is to do? He could be hunting geared players in high interest areas you know, thats what I do when fully geared anyways. Imo its a pansy thing to do, to hunt fresh respawns. They can't even fight back and don't have a single interesting loot to make those bulets worth, so no challange and you get nothing as a reward. The only reason I can see someone doing it is that they want to get some kicks from pvp aspect but are too afraid to go somewhere where people can fight him back. But yeah, killing people who can't fight back is fun, I don't denny that lol, just not my thing.

 

We saw eachother at the same time, he was going downstairs and I was going up, the fastest thing I could do to try save my life was to talk and thats what I did, but as I told ya, he raised his weapon and started to chase me around that industrial area, shit was scarry man hahahhhaha. This helmet now brings me bad memories, such a sadistic dude :(
