Seawolph (DayZ) 0 Posted September 15, 2014 Whats up guys. First time posting on the forums, but most definitely not a noob. I'm actually looking for some information from the mods, but some ideas from the community would be helpful as well. One major thing I have noticed that no one seems to be addressing is legit cheating amongst players. (When I say legit, I mean not spinning around aimbotting and spawning things everywhere, but hooks, wall hacks, ESP, most things generally undetectable by normal anticheat). This kind of defeats the purpose of a survival game, which is exactly why I'm looking to set up a sort of anti-cheat client to run in the background during gameplay on our servers (similar to what ESEA did). My questions right now are: 1. Is this against the terms of service?2. Is this something that people would be interested in? (Totally free of charge to play). I know it's possible and I have the staff to make it a reality. I want to hear what the community thinks, and see if this is something worthwhile.
IkaikaKekai 1957 Posted September 15, 2014 Pretty sure it's against the terms of service currently. Battle Eye and VAC are the current Antihacks in use at the moment. When private servers are available this may change as it did with the mod.
TheFarm 158 Posted September 15, 2014 It's not even possible currently for the SA. All servers are hosted through providers, and they aren't allowed to modify the server in any way or even ban players. The developers will handle the cheating soon enough. Private shards are also coming in the near future with whitelists. So for them cheating will never be a major problem again
boneboys 7988 Posted September 15, 2014 Forum KGB :(Don't do that.*******************************3rd party player tracking would be against the Terms of Contract I believe.

robbyj 77 Posted September 15, 2014 How would you even create an anti cheat for SA without read/write permsissions? Your antihack would be detected as a hack itself! You could try and run it externally, but you would still need to hack the game or attach a debugger, which BI absolutly hates and all of the anti Debuggers don't work and your SA client would just crash. Cpanther 221 Posted September 15, 2014 Most anti-cheat methods involve cheating yourself...which more often than not leads to people cheating because they are losing the battle. So anti-cheating is just an excuse to cheat yourself.
