Rammur 59 Posted September 12, 2014 Ah eventually the game will be modder friendly right now trhey are simply adding the tools and mechanics so eventually when them mod tools get added you guys can play around to your hearts desire the devs priorities are not even gonna be on that end game aspect.

scriptfactory 620 Posted September 12, 2014 That IS a direction.. and an objective. ;) We are in the same page.. trust me. Oops. I thought you were OP. The way he worded the scenarios it seemed like he wants to make quests or something in-game. That would be pretty lame. Objectives (via in-game resources) would be totally cool as long as they were completely player-driven. I do agree. I asked hard for the crashed helis (from mod) to make a comeback and I am really happy they are back in the game.
pilgrim* 3514 Posted September 12, 2014 (edited) I guess you never played a sandbox game before, huh ? Best example is The Elder Scroll games... which are "Sandbox" games, you can play how ever you want, do what ever you want, be who ever you want, and they don't really have an "end"... but they have an "endgame". Elder Scrolls = character advancement games= kill monsters to gain experience points / apply skills to gain skill sets= level up Now - has this rigid numerical leveling system got anything to do with the elder scrolls "endgame" you mention? (I guess it does, am I wrong ?)OR are you talking about some other endgame in any of the Elder Scrolls games ??.. like tell me if maybe you can be at "endgame" when you are an optimized tank Orc (race) Dragonnight (class) with "Brawny" (skill), "Heavy Armor" (skill) , "Robust" (skill) and "Swift" (skill) all skills doing OK according to the optimal Orc Build Guide and leveling chart ?? but your little Ork is averaging around Ork Skills rank 17. Long way to go! Can you "endgame" with your character now?You say theres not really an "end" but there's an "endgame". Where is it ? What is it ? Great game for sure.. (sandbox in Elder Scrolls means you can go (kind of) nearly (to a certain extent) anywhere to level up, right?.. thats.. cool ... and nice scenery too ..)BUT Elder Scrolls is a choose race/choose class/choose skills/calculate leveling/work on skills/gain points/climb up the ranks/unlock abilities/.., game - Tell me what has THIS : http://www.esomasteryguides.com/character-builds/ got to do with DayZ ?? I mean - what at all has it got to do with DayZ in any way whatever ?? [and check out 'sandbox games' on wikipedia, dude, and for other related educative stuff] xx pilgrim Edited September 12, 2014 by pilgrim

In fact games like DayZ and EvE online are based in games like that... hell... EvE online is almost a perfect "copy" of the X games series.
