First Human Kill

Hi there just wanted to share my first Human Kill.

 

I'm not a "kill on Site" player & try to help those around me, but I found myself in Novo in the North & went into the big tower. Anyway I had been all to the top & searched all the floors (found a crossbow & some bolts on an lower floor) 

 

Then this new spawn in ran past me on one of the floors - so I aimed my rifle at him as a precaution & then we started to communicate & once I established he had no weapons I said I can let him have the crossbow but not before I left the building - and this is where it went weird.

 

He grabbed the crossbow & preceded to run downstairs to get the bolts so I just fled then & he'd caught up with me and I told him not to follow me, I was running round the back when I saw him again & this is when I told him to leave me alone, he raised the crossbow & I shot him.

 

now should I have given him the info to arm himself I don't know - that is my dilemma, but all said and done its a game & was well played out sir.

Giving people weapons is a good way to get yourself killed. Its better to give food, water, clothes etc and don't give weapons. Make sure you keep your distance from newspawns as a lot of them will try to get close they can punch you out. If they keep trying to get closer, don't trust them, just run away.

Don't be too polite. Being assertive and saying "if you come too close I will kill you" is a great deterrent. Just remember to stick by your word and put a bullet in someone trying to get too close for comfort.

the crossbow was on the floor and I didn't need it, I gave him some fruit also - being the helpful chat & those words if you follow me I will shoot was used, so I'm somewhat ion the right track.

I think you handled that situation well, running for the bolts was his huge mistake, I definitely wouldn't do that. I try to help people as well, sometimes actively like in going to spawn points, making camfires and giving cooked food and basic supplies. Met very nice guys in that way, even groups. Fresh spawns met more up north tend to be more deranged somehow. I had to kill in Berezino and in Novo and it leaves a bad aftertaste to finish off a defenceles moron whom I wanted to help. Like the guys say, keep your distance, don't fiddle too long with your inventory screen and judge the guy by how he talks. I like to have a Magnum in my hands when I deal with someone who looks like he's got nothing to lose. After that I just follow my guts - some people will try to kill you given the first chance, others will go out on a limb to return the favour.

Yesterday I went on a roof in Berezino and heard someone come up behind me. It was a guy in a motorcycle helmet(they're always dicks) So I ketp my distance. He kept saying friendly but I ignored him ang went on my way. After a while he comes running with another guy, they run towards me so I run away. They then start taunting me, saying theyre gonna kill me and torture me and stuff so I just keep running. After we get to the wrecked boat I take em on a small tour of the woods and back towards Berezino. They start to whine and say they wont kill me if I drop my gear but I just keep running. When we get to Berezino again i tell them its time to go sleep, so I jump from the Quay and log out.  I could probaly have killed them as they had sticks and I had an axe but this was way more fun.

 

If you see a guy lin a yellow raincoat logging in in the water don't shoot him.
