DayZ goes bad

Recommended Posts

Hi, I have a problem and that I meet all the requirements of DayZ in the recommended and occasionally no lag and will not fine me, that's with the graphics to a minimum. There may be a configuration problem or something, if anyone knows anything thanks in advance ;)

PS: I leave you a screenshot of the requirements demanded by the game and my computer.

the game has shit optimization because it is in alpha. people with i7's and dual titans cant run this game for shit in cities so you will have to learn to deal with it. setting your graphic settings lower generally doesnt help because it is the clients fault, not your pc so you can put them on medium and have the same fps as on lowest settings.

What CPU (Processor), GPU (Graphics Card) and monitor resolution are you trying to run it on???

At the moment the game is VERY CPU demanding ...try lowering everything that is related to processing.. like shadows for example.

There are lots of other posts and stickies about how to optimise fps, etc. (like http://forums.dayzgame.com/index.php?/topic/162591-how-to-increase-frames-in-dayz-with-a-midlow-end-pc-in-game-specs/)

Much of it is really helpful (like altering the cfg files). There is a point of view that the situation can be improved by running higher graphics settings, as these push the processing into more powerful GPUs.

But ultimately, as stated above, there's only so much you can do about it.

Weird that there's no info about changing view and object distances from the .cfg. Lowering them down can bring a lot of fps if your CPU is bottlenecking. That's a big info for low-mid-highmid computers.

I play fine with minimal lag and respectable FPS from a lowly intel G3258 PENTIUM that's water cooled and overclocked to 4.4Ghz. Two cores. No hyperthreading. Medium settings on a GTX460 V2.

Everything plays fine. DayZ in its current state is VERY CPU dependent. The high clock made it almost buttery smooth.

Well i am not sure how much they have changed the engine now but from playing RV engine games for more than 8 years now turning everything to its lowest can actually make it worse in many cases..

I know that sounds crazy but its like this (or use to be again i know there changing the engine) but turning shadows to lowest was actually in many cases worse for FPS due to it would change it from being run by the GPU  to being run by the CPU which when your CPU is already stressed out (2.7 is not ultra fast and i dont believe they have improved multi threading thats why i believe the guy with dual core having it clocked having good results because its really only using a couple of cores on most quad hexi and octa core cpu's.

Also as people mentioned it may be a good idea to make some changes in you cfg file namely view distance and scene complexity.. using start up parameters may also add a little bit ( they do nothing for me but then i have good framerates, but some people are reporting geting 10 or more frames from using parameters for there exe file...
