archamedes 238 Posted September 2, 2014 so what are your thoughts about the buggy AI of the game? Are they they Zombies in the true sense that they are dead and reanimated or are they the living infected? Not that it makes any difference to gameplay or how we deal with them, but how do you see them?
WhiteZero 72 Posted September 2, 2014 Officially they are infected, not undead.
IkaikaKekai 1957 Posted September 2, 2014 It's been confirmed, they are living infected. People often seam to forget this and that Zombie is an umbrella term. From a psychological view it's easier to see them as the undead. They're a danger to your survival, not someone's son or daughter or a mother or father. Just simple husks that are out to get you. Infected implies a cure, or at the very least a treatment. 'What happens if I kill this person and they make a cure?' Granted we're too far past that point and the only 'cure' is death. While you could even strangle an infected to death as opposed to an undead, this leads to dangerous thinking. 'Headshots only' hopefully leads to trigger discipline even if only in your own mind.Even in traditional zombie movies/shows/games there's this fallacy, 'maybe we can cure them?'. How do you cure someone who's missing half their face, 3/4ths of their small intestines and all of their large intestines?
archamedes 238 Posted September 2, 2014 indeed. I sometimes zone out a lot and drift into my own world where im in an apocalypse & think to myself "what would i really do if faced with my wife or my son after they turned?" its easy in hind sight to say "Fuck it, this is survival, they are finished" then blow their heads off, but when you have that emotional connection and you know the only thing you can do is either leave them or shoot them, there is that little voice inside your head that stops you and reminds you that these are your family, what if they can be saved? The most upsetting vision i get is the thought that my 8 year old son is turned into infected but hes outside the house. The thought of him being infected is really a chocker, but what rally pulls my heartstrings as a father is that hes out there on his own, in the dark. He's autistic and afraid of being on his own abd afraid of the dark. This is the real shit only parents can relate to, and when you zone back in and realize that its all fantasy you feel a little better.

Me and the wife are big fans of TWD and she asked me would i be able to pull trigger on her and kids if they turned. I never thought of it really but i dont think i could just in case there is a cure
Deathlove 2286 Posted September 2, 2014 I would like to point out the ones in the mod are more terrifying for the lack skin tissue or deformations of features on there bodies there for id like to consider them as zombies or a mix between the two. Considering in the mods some had LITERALLY skeleton bone faces and noses. To be honest i wish some of those skin textures would return in a more updated look because they are far more terrifying than what we currently have now. Bonappetit 117 Posted September 3, 2014 (edited) so what are your thoughts about the buggy AI of the game? Are they they Zombies in the true sense that they are dead and reanimated or are they the living infected? Not that it makes any difference to gameplay or how we deal with them, but how do you see them? You should ask them, they are actually really nice. Once I asked this Jimmy fella zombie where do I go to reach the Airstrip and he kindly pointed the way and explained how to reach the destination in couple of words and he also gave me a pristine kiwi, truly a nice guy! But OT ^-^ Considering the movies/tv shows from 90's on I believe they are more infected (virus) then being a resurrected from the dead by the way they run fast. While the usual ressurected zombies where slow as hell, just like in The walking dead tv show. Edited September 3, 2014 by Miracool

I would like that one day they implement like a horde of zombies migrating around the map slowly just like you can see in some episodes of The Walking Dead in case you ever watched that. Well, you could feed them only small mushy snacks until they got better. ;)
