Improvedayz 9 Posted August 31, 2014 (edited) After roughly my first 12 hours... I have played the predecessors, and this is an improvement. However, there is obviously a lot to be done. I will start with my overarching thought, which is that there needs to be some sort of incentive to living where there is not now. Currently, most servers are running a 24/7 daylight gank fest setup with frequent restarts. Clearly this does not provide any incentive to do anything but KoS other players... and what do you do once you have everything you need? -kill yourself? -hunt people? This might be ok if there were significantly more than 40 players per server, but while this would be more fun it would shift away from realism and would change the game entirely. Persistence is the only thing that would incentivize living - to build something that wouldn't just wipe in an hour or two. I wouldn't be opposed to some kind of meta-game as well; even though that would "break the wall" in terms of realism, it would certainly be more engaging in the long term. Another (obvious) thought is to include party system, and im sure hundreds have suggested that. I would like to see the fall damage threshold raised slightly, because I don't see why a man can't jump down 6-8 feet with ease. I would also include many more zombies. There is a significant derth of zombie. The game is too easy and thusly boring, so it becomes a game about hunting other humans. I may edit as I remember certain other thoughts. Please comment, I'm just getting into the forums so I'll try to do the same. ____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________<Things Added> *Why cant I crawl up stairs? *It rains entirely too much, especially if you plan to implement a negative effect per the health system. *More ways to kill myself please, if you get stranded out somewhere it is quite a long wait to starve. *Vicinity search should be larger, I often cant reach something on a dresser for instance and vicinity cant either. *PLEASE fix the glitch whereby I hear zombies growling and coke cans opening randomly etc. -asap. *Buttons are often unresponsive, and take several attempts to utilize *I just picked up a Sickle (double click/drag didn't work, I had to option it into my hands) It does no damage to zombies at all, and now I can't put it down. *holding shift in water actually makes you go slower, also why can't I dive or drown? ____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ This game has huge potential, and it would be nice to see it reached. Red_Ensign 990 Posted August 31, 2014 agreed. what drew me to this game are the things that are NOT like a million fps games. most of those ARE more potential than reality right now, but I'm hopeful. if I wanted to shoot people, there's better games where I can do that.

Running around just hunting animals and surviving would be dull. If I wanted to hunt animals, there's better games where I can do that. General Zod 1118 Posted September 1, 2014 (edited) *PLEASE fix the glitch whereby I hear zombies growling and coke cans opening randomly etc. -asap.You really must be new here, broken sound has been around for as long as I can remember. And it doesn't look like it will be fixed soon. Edited September 1, 2014 by General Zod
Evil Minion 943 Posted September 1, 2014 *Why cant I crawl up stairs?Game balance - I can't crawl through doors so in order to make it fair you can't crawl upstairs. *It rains entirely too much, especially if you plan to implement a negative effect per the health system.Sadly thats not true. "Sadly" because its reality that gives us just as much rain at least where I live. *More ways to kill myself please, if you get stranded out somewhere it is quite a long wait to starve. Why would you kill yourself in a game about surviving? Better get rid of those stuck spots instead. And if you run away from the map you kinda deserved it. (Maybe there should be a warning though). *Vicinity search should be larger, I often cant reach something on a dresser for instance and vicinity cant either.I would rather like to see a more natural pickup system where you can take items from the ground into your hands more easily. In fact those items you are talking about are usually reachable by manual pickup - but nobody uses this because it can be fiddly at times and the real uses like quickly picking up a weapon or tool from the ground are just not there. So I think manual pickup should receive the buff not vicinity search. *I just picked up a Sickle (double click/drag didn't work, I had to option it into my hands) It does no damage to zombies at all, and now I can't put it down.I believe I killed zombies with the Sickle this patch. Are you sure you are hitting them? *holding shift in water actually makes you go slowerIsn't this how it is intended to work? I mean holding shift outside of water also makes you go slower. leviski 2152 Posted September 1, 2014 Ive been playing the life of a trader, and I am glad that I have a armed body guard with me, to help oversee the trades. So far, I havent traded with a single person, because I cant find anyone. And the two people I did find where fresh, and needed food so I just gave them food. Id say alot of your suggestions are an ASAP fix, especially the damn random noises bug.

Cheers. Although your suggestions are good. Many people have posted the exact same thing and the bugs you found are in the devhub. Just a heads up. But yes there are lots of problems and some yet to be implemented features. Like many people say it is in "Alpha." So just be patient and wait for beta or release. If you think of a suggestion look it up and see if people posted the same thing if not then make a new thread and share away. Have fun with Dayz SA!
