Is my account safe?

I logged in some hour ago since some week.

I found my 3rd person character without any equipment, nor clothes. On the first place i thought that could be some new kind of respawn, then i realized it wasn't.

 

Possible account violation, or what else in your opinion / experience?

You logged out, you quit.
Your character remains in the server/world for another 30-60 seconds, someone saw you.
They came to you, knocked you unconscious and stole your stuff.

Thinking someone breached your account sounds impossible, cause your steam account is your account.

Couple of things here.

1. There are known issues with hives/databases/etc that can cause your character to wipe. Doesn't happen often, but people report it happening. There's a big global wipe coming up in a few releases anyway (allegedly with .49 build) so don't get too attached to that gear!
2. Zeds keep aggro for an unbelievably long time and will follow you a lot longer than you think. You could very well have camped and had a zed you ran from earlier (or one that simply wandered by) come up and kill you in the 40ish seconds your avatar exists in the world after camping.
3. As Warhoax said, a player may have noticed you camping and came along and ended you and/or stolen your stuff.

On #1 - I've had an issue happen 2 times where I logged out of server A and later into server B, and after logging into server B I was right where I logged out by my gear was all missing (all my item slots were empty, but I had my containers). I then proceeded to log back into server A and like magic all of my items were back again. I think I reported this, or found a report someone else made and voted and chimed in on the Feedback Tracker.

 

So in summary - your account is likely fine. This Early Access Alpha has a lot of quirks above and beyond normal game mechanics that might not be obvious that can cause what you experienced to happen. You likely did nothing wrong.

Also - if you spawned under a bridge near an ocean inlet or small pond or something - there was a bugged spawn location that would cause you to spawn naked in your undies with absolutely no gear. I don't know if they fixed that yet or not. I'm sure some people can chime in about that one, I also experienced that one once and it totally threw me for a loop.

To point 3, you respawn, if you log out unconscious, but I don't think you do when you log out and somebody knocks you out then - can someone confirm that? I found players several times while they were logging out. I once knocked one out, stole his gear, but let him live. Now if all your gear was gone as described, you were still at the same location (no respawn) and you were not online for weeks, I'd guess some game bug with the database, database connection, or something in that direction. Don't panick.

 

EDIT: The post above mine sounds interesting, I only ever lost something when swimming. Avoided that after the first time.

The server can have a bad connection to the hive so new character is greated. Happens sometimes but usually you can just change for a better server and you get it back. There are some rare occasions that you've just lost your character.

Yeah you either got your stuff stolen after you logged out (is your character in the same place where you logged off)?

Or, are you nude and in a new location? This is a known but kind of rare spawn glitch.

I think this could be what happened to me, my char was in undies with nothing else, near a pond. After respawn anything look fine again... i'm gonna open a bug.

Was it under the bridge in Vybor? Check this ticket out, if that sounds like you it's a known issue - no need to enter a new ticket, but certainly add to the notes on the existing ticket and/or vote it up.
