Crossbows being ignored?

Recommended Posts

anyone else having this trouble with crossbow's?

Your Fov seems super wide, could have something to do with it. Same thing with the large backpacks, when you prone with a wide FOV you run into issues.

If I could take the bolts out of a zombie and use it again this was a nice weapon.

that, & i'd add - the ability to add a weapon flash light is a must &  being able to carry it instead of an axe on your back along with main weapon would be sweet..

Balance is not an Alpha concern.

The crossbow's day shall come.

'Hello. We can not have discussion on any sort of balance of loot, weapons, or anything that seems like it isn't a base, fundamental system, because this is alpha! Right?'

No.

Seriously, I don't care if it is Alpha or Beta. We are playing the game. Balance can be done. There is no reason to follow some specific pattern when it comes to what you do first or what you do last. Sure, its good to set things in stone first, but it'd be nice to provide even a slightly enjoyable or difficult experience for the testers as they, you know, play the game and provide feedback.

I really dislike your reply - Its not constructive at all. You're basically telling everyone to hold off on anything involving a weapon they believe is utterly useless until beta, because, ya'know, development schedules have to follow the norm, right?

I think the dev's are only concerned with game-breaking balance in alpha. Would be nice if crossbows were tweaked to be better, but you need to understand that the developers have a very long "to-do" list. They're likely well aware that the crossbow isn't balanced. They simply have a good 1,000,000 other things that are higher priority on the their list. Is there any good reason for crossbows to be perfectly balanced in this point of time? No, and not a single person in this thread has made a good point for that case. Particularly not you.

If this game is going to be finished in the most efficient manner possible, then they need to have their priorities. The crossbow being slightly weaker than it should be doesn't make the game unplayable or really much less enjoyable. There's a reason they don't just develop shit in random order all willy-nilly based on the first complaints. I'm sure on a list of issues that people found important to fix, other people would rate your complaint against the crossbow really lowly. So chill pls.

Rag's point is perfectly valid - bitching for the sake of bitching doesn't really accomplish much. Patience.

I'm basically telling him that in the Alpha, they aren't going to focus on re-balancing weapons, but his complaint will definitely be addressed at a later time.

How much you like my replies is no concern of mine.

My bow is set to 80lbs

That video is with a stone head, but with a broadhead like this one you can shoot straight through bodies as long as it doesn't lodge itself right into the bone.

They like to make really smooth cuts in a + shape when they go through too. Hit a bear, elk, deer or a moose with one in the lung and blood pours out.

I've found most people who aren't familiar with hunting underestimate the power of an arrow.  People don't realize that if the arrow doesn't pass through the animal totally and lodges itself in the vital region, any movement from that point causes more damage.  The bladed end of that arrow moving around while the animal runs does serious internal damage.  Yeah.....lots of blood.
