Feedback on CR527?

This new rifle has been stable for a few patches yet I haven't heard any feedback on it yet. I just found one next to an MP5 in a police station so I've decided to run with both and hopefully I'll find their respective magazines.

I have only fired this rifle once (point blank headshot), but I am looking for some feedback from a player with more extensive experience using one. YouTube proved unhelpful.

I'd carry any pistol other than the Amphibia provided I have a full mag than opposed to that rifle. I hate it man.

It's okay, not bad and not really better than anything else. Magazines need to spawn in residential areas if they aren't already, if they are, they need to be more common. And could probably benefit from an optic or a few muzzle attachments (I believe a compensator is on file for the CR527, could be wrong).

 

In my opinion, the SKS and Mosin outclass pretty much everything out there currently in terms of capability, availability of ammunition/magazines/clips, availability of optics, etc.

 

The actual operator-side behaviors (i.e. recoil, turning speed, etc.) are negligible for me at this point by comparison to the innate capabilities of the weapons. Rarity and ease of supply will always be the most significant factors when I look at a weapon.

The weapon performs about the same as the Mosin. Even has the same sound effects, like exactly the same.

 

Saying that though, it is let down by these facts

 

  • That it should probably come with the magazine attached already,
  • No support for any existing attachments. If you could fit a medium range scope it would be nice.
  • The mosin does exactly the same jobs but better, you have attachments, camoflage and no requirement for a magazine.
  • It cannot be chambered in the current build. This means it is literally useless without the magazine.

 

All this means that you will probably have to be going out your way to use one as a main primary weapon, as it is let down by the above issues. You will have any other civillian spawn weapon with ammo before you have everything required to use this. It fits an odd niche for a medium range carbine rifle. If you like to go out of the norm though - it is an okay weapon.

 

TL:DR;

 

Too many cons as opposed to pro's to use this above anything else at the moment.

 

edit: I have been informed that the rifle CAN be chambered. This was fixed in the last stable patch.

Cr527 = SKS with 5 round-magazine and bolt-action (slower RoF)

 

AKM = SKS in full auto with 75 rounds, PSO-scope, bipod and slightly better accuracy

 

(that's just what I know/think, tho)

 

 

@Katana: There's also a muzzlebreak for the MP5K in the gamefiles. Also the gamefiles suggest, that the LRS is attachable to the Ruger 10/22.

You absolutely can chamber the CZ527. I actually really like it, it's easy to find without going into military zones and the mags aren't terribly difficult to find. One has a reasonable expectation finding one going into enough industrial areas. It's also perfectly capable of killing someone. You don't use it as an assault weapon, so you're probably not clearing buildings with one, but it's not designed to be. One day when not everyone can expect to have tons of AK mags or even the AK itself, it'll probably get more respect. Sure it doesn't specialize at anything but it's a perfectly capable and decent weapon. I imagine one day it'll probably get some sort of optic attachment. (one large bonus it does have come to think of it is that right now 7.62x39 ammo is absolutely everywhere)

According to this list thats true right now. Sadly the AKM and FNX45 are plain superior to any of their competitors (and .45 APC is too strong - should be ~7.5 instead of 9). I hope thats subject to change though.

 

CR527:

  • hard to find magazines
  • no attachments
  • less damage/accuracy than Mosin
  • assaullt rifle grade dexterity (sadly its a bolt action that can't make much use of it)

There is no list needed.

the problem is that 1 type of ammo has a fixed bullet-"damage" and velocity.

 

The barrel length is unimportant right now (sadly).

So a .357-lever-action carbine will have a bullet-speed of 360, while Mosins, M4s and AKMs all have above 700/800, I think.

It's plenty useful. But if you were dropped in a magic room with basically all the weapons and got to choose, I can understand why you'd not pick the CZ527. Sadly, loot prevalence* in the game at the current state is closer to that magic room than not. This may not always be the case and finding a perfectly useful CZ527 may seem a huge improvement over your wrench one day.

 

*(or just ease of acquisition due to unsavory tactics like duping and server hopping, etc.)

Great addition.

 

It is not better than any other weapon but it does not have to be. It works within the game and fits the setting so well its a civiian weapon I would expect in the game.

 

Hopefully they add more bolt guns like it.

Magazines are too rare. Needs somekind of optics, at least 4X.

 

I believe mags will go to civilian spawns at some point and this rifle will get an optics as well.

Right, there should be additional weapon parameters:

  • ballistic: a multiplicator to bullet speed and damage
  • weight: a modificator to sway (increasing) and recoil (slightly decreasing)

Attachments should also affect sway and recoil instead of dispersion (exception: muzzle attachments should affect dispersion and recoil). Given the listed bullet damage handguns should have a ballistic value of <1 and (long) rifles should have a ballistic value of >1 - with carbines and maybe (bigger) submachine guns having values ~1.

Also now that every weapon is pristine, you simply just choose the best. Although I like rolling with the "lesser" weapons too.

Running around with a magnum with 10 rounds an these two worthless hunks of metal has made me really want the magazines badly, and given my character purpose. I found yet another MP5 in elektro just now but still no mags :/
