If you create/have this server, I will come.

Recommended Posts

Central US (Or anywhere in the US where I can get under 120 ping. I live in AZ.)

4-6 hour Uptime.

Full Day/Night Cycle in 4-6 hour period

Hardcore (1pp locked)

And importantly - POPULATED! (Not necessarily 40/40, but >20 would be nice.)

If you know of this server, or you are a server owner who is willing to make some changes, I will make your server my home and the home of all my buddies.

Unfortunately a full day/night cycle within 4hrs or a restart past 4hrs is not possible, currently.

The only way to get a day/night cycle is to change the in game time manually upon server restart. Some of us do this, not many though.

I thought there was time acceleration?  Or was this not implemented yet to speed up the day-night cycle over the course of a server uptime?

4-6..way to small imo, that's getting near gta style.. 11-15 would be ok as then over a few days you can experience the whole cycle on the same server

Yeah.. I wouldn't mind longer day/night cycle, but my idea is that I would like to start a play session and be able to experience an entire day in 1 session.

I know what you mean, but i find the the hour before the sun comes up and goes down the nicest in the game, if you make the day/night cycle to short then you lose this :)  The sun is down a few minutes and you go from full day to inky blackness nearly instantly. If they could do an 11 or so hour cycle then at least over a few sessions you could experience a full 24 hours :)

Accelerated time has not been implemented as of yet.

I do also agree that a 4hr day/night cycle is just far too short.

We're currently running a 12hr day/night cycle as best we can. With the way it goes there's a good 2 or 3hrs of night mixed in there.

Yeah.. I'd even be happy with starting at Sunrise, and ending at .. ohh.. about midnight? That way you get mostly day, some dusk, some dawn, and a little bit of night.

Yeah sounded like it.  Hopefully when they do implement it, they allow for variable ROC of time, so that you could have say, 1hour day - accel to dusk - slow to 2hour dusk - accel to night - 1 hour night - accel to dawn (sit 2hr) then rinse repeat.  You could cut out some of the steps by starting/stopping your server at specific times ie: start closer to dawn and have a slower sun-down and then alter your timelapse...

May be something for the suggestion forum, but variable options like this would allow allow you to distinguish your server a little more i reckon.
