Looking for your best cinematic DayZ screenshots

Recommended Posts

I'm working on a project to make a really cool DayZ video but I need you best cinematic DayZ screenshots. Cinematic meaning it looks like it could have been pulled out of a movie. High quality (good graphic settings and 1920x1080), framed well, something that looks like there is more to the story than the picture itself can tell. Shots that you feel capture the essence of DayZ in one photo are what I'm looking for. A hostage situation, a shot of someone fighting zombies, looking over a beautiful landscape or sitting with friends by a campfire, people in a firefight, etc. Anything goes as long as it is a high quality shot.

Why not just create the shots yourself and do the leg work?

I have a "portfolio" of my favorites among thousands of screenshots I've taken in the Standalone. I'm very proud of some of those captures. I definitely have my hesitations about submitting anything for this, but I can also understand needing some assistance for a truly great compilation -- that takes a looooot of time. I dunno.

Being a thick headed noob, how do you capture a screen shot? The old Ctrl print screen doesn't work for me.

F12 is the default Steam screenshot button

I run DayZ from Steam and F12 doesn't work for me.

Fraps adds watermarks to the screenshots.  Any other software you recommend?

You don't need additional software. Check your Steam settings and see if the screenshot action was unassigned somehow. You're looking for a complicated solution to what is probably a very simple problem. I don't know if FRAPS creates assignment conflicts with keys, but that's worth looking into as well (or just don't run it if you don't have much of a use for it).
