Zombies. Can we have a quick chat?

Usually I'd post my videos in the gallery section, but I'd like to have a proper discussion about this.

I know there are hundreds of posts about the zombies and how broken they are.

But this is on a whole new level. I would like this video to be seen by the powers that be, and have something actually done about them. No more putting bandages over a VERY big sore.

 

The idea of this game. The main sole focus of it. Is that it is a ZOMBIE survival game. Albeit it's mainly a PVP game (because that's how people play it), but at the core of the game, it is a ZOMBIE survival game.

This kind of thing isn't good enough. This isn't the first time I've had the issue, and it won't be the last. But can a dev please see this, and please have this fixed.

I believe this issue partially depends on the server your on. It is in part the coding as they are still working on the navmesh, netcode, AI, new animations, and collision detection. But I personally never encountered this issue and I have 34 hours of game time. Try to stay to low ping servers and servers that have a low dsync. If your on a server with high ping or high dysnc it could cause invisible zombies or zombies that attack from far away.

^^I was thinking something along these lines.

 

I recently played on a low ping, seemingly low desync server, and felt the zombies were functioning with less bugs.

 

The fact is, the zombies in the mod and the SA have always been terribly flawed.

 

I also believe zombie performance/numbers are a very high priority in development but cannot be properly tested until some very important changes are made first, like the new game engine.

I play on Canada West.  Usually its fine, and great ping.  One of my logins though, this was happening.  Left and came back and still happening.  Waited till server restart and it was gone.  Its happened on a few other servers Ive been on.  Its completely random and boink.

I think it'll get better once they roll out the 64-bit servers and clients. On both sides we are limited to 2 gb of memory. Not much they can do until they get those out first. IMO.

Yea like I stated, it's in part the server and in part the coding. It's incomplete on both sides as in the 64bit servers and the items I listed in my earlier post. They are aware of it as I've looked at numerous reports in the dev hub. In time hopefully they can fix it. :)

first thing I do when I log onto a sever is look myself up on the player list.  if it shows me with a desync number other than zero, I log out.

I've experienced this on all different kinds of servers. Not just high ping/high desync servers.

This one was on our home server that we pay for, with very low ping/desync. 

 

It's just an issue that really needs to be worked on now, and not some time down the track.

I'd rather this be fixed before we get a pig to hunt.
