I've noticed that some animals tend to inhabit the same areas but I'm not aware that I've come across any chickens yet. Deathlove 2286 Posted August 15, 2014 They seem REALLY hard to find in Dayz. Been looking in open fields and stuff to try and find some to make improvised arrows. Is there rarity even worth the hunt depending on how many feathers they yield? Your best chances are on freshly restarted server.But at the very least they should be the most numerous of domesticated animals. Deathlove 2286 Posted August 15, 2014 I just dont think chickens should be the nail in the coffin as to not ever wanting to craft ammo for a bow. I hope they increase the numbers at best. AzrailCross 48 Posted August 17, 2014 The only thing I've heard of chickens is they seem to spawn near farming areas even the smaller spots with small patches of pumpkins. (but for the life of me haven't ran across one yet -_-) Not even sure 'where' or when I heard that, so don't take my word for it on that one. Just hearsay at the moment ;3 Did spot a bull though... even hear tale of goats but the wildlife seems to be better at hiding than any of us. But I can confirm ONE thing, zombies WILL kill the animals.. watched a pack of zombies that were following me - change course for said bull I mentioned.... Animal spawns are still whack , farm animals as well as hunted game would of rapidly taken over any rural enviornment within a few years. Yano (DayZ) 102 Posted August 21, 2014 Ok , mission accomplished Chickens and Goats do spawn in Msta near the shed and orchard close to town on the west side , as well as Goats on the Western hill over town. Chicken info i got for ya is , when you prepare the chicken , you get 2 breasts and 20 feathers , it only takes one feather to make an arrow which can be made by chopping kindling then sharpening the sticks with your kitchen knife or machete. Each stick x feather combo makes one arrow and you can combine the arrows into groups of 5 in your inventory. hope this helps a little enjoy your adventures :D Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
