Okay, so i have just made two runs on NW airfield and havent found one of these smersh vests.

The question is - do they spawn on military bases or i should look for one @ heli crash sites ?

OH cool. So we can have two backbacks this way? Awesome.

Does this mean they will allow us to break down a second primary rifle and store in in a backpack? They should implement that along with this smersh bag. For example, one could carry a mosin, and have a complete but broken down AKM in their bag. If the player wants to use it they have to put it together before they can fire it. That way, we can have two primaries but still be able to run at the cost of having to put the second primary together to use it.

Does this SMERSH pack replace your vest or is it attached to your vest? How many spaces does it have?

, and have a complete but broken down AKM in their bag.

Can't really break down an AK much further than folding/removing the stock. Besides, I think this role is filled by the SMGs.

You can either use it as a normal backpack, OR, if u have a SMERSH vest u can attach that backpack to it and have a big-arse vest on u, while still having a spot for a backpack behind ur back.

 

Now waiting for a confirmation that SMERSH vests are heli crash sites spawn only.

SMERSH is a Soviet counterintelligence agency that was featured in Ian Fleming's early James Bond novels and films as 007's nemesis. SMERSH is a conjunction of two Russian words: "SMERt' SHpionam", (Смерть Шпионам), which means "Death to Spies". Though Fleming's SMERSH was supposed to be modelled on the real SMERSH organization, the novels had SMERSH as a massive Soviet counterintelligence operation aimed at sending operatives abroad to subvert the West with an additional goal of killing Western spies, particularly Bond.

SMERSH (Russian: СМЕРШ, acronym of Russian: Специальные Методы Разоблaчения Шпионов (Spetsyalnye MEtody Razoblacheniya SHpyonov; Special Methods of Spy Detection), but also anecdotally referred to asSMERt' SHpionam; "Death to spies") was an umbrella name for three independent counter-intelligence agencies in the Red Army formed in late 1942 or even earlier, but officially founded on 14 April 1943.^[3][4] The name SMERSH was coined by Joseph Stalin. The main reason for its creation was to subvert the attempts by German forces to infiltrate the Red Army.

The official statute of SMERSH listed the following tasks to be solved by this organization:

But why are the bags arleady being found at Balota? That makes no sense that the vest is only helicopters but the bag that goes with it is at bases.

The way I understood it, the backpack can be turned into the vest. I didn't know this at the time so didn't test it.

And no the SMERSH backpack spawns elsewhere and is more common and does not turn into a vest...I have found SMERSH backpacks all over the place on exp and stable

I've googled a bit and I found a website where people said in the comments that SMERSH vest an only be found at helicopter crash sites. I found 3 crashsites today but no vest. It must be as rare as tents are.
