UltimateGentleman 355 Posted August 13, 2014 Can't wait for this, don't have to bother setting up a controller for the game now or buy a headset since I already have the crappy one that comes with the PS4. That it was most likely going to go on PS4 is actually why I got the early access in the first place. Anyone else excited for it? Though who knows when it will be out PC version isn't even nearly done really.Early 2016 maybe? Maybe Q2. chepaco3290 59 Posted August 13, 2014 I hope this will iron out the horrendous optimization issues this game has. I have a $1,200 laptop that has to play this game on low settings. It doesn't support my GPU, and everything looks plain old ugly on my machine. I simply shouldn't have to edit config files to get playable frame-rates! I'm craving the high quality experience that we all see on YouTube videos, but I don't have a $3k desktop pc to provide me with that experience. With H1Z1 coming to PS4 as well, I simply can not wait. When DayZ PS4 is released, I'm going to kiss this pathetic PC version goodbye, and never look back. Although many would say that the architecture (x86) is the same for PC and PS4, there are still some significant differences. For example the graphics interface. On the one side, we have directx and on the other side we have opengl or maybe mantle. So the whole graphics core needs to be rewritten. The same goes for the network part. Further the code has to be optimized for both and maybe all three platforms. Hope for the good, but expect the bad. So you can't be disappointed. Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

Yeah same here I'm going to enjoy it all being optimized because I looked at the game on my nvidia program and it said it wasn't at the right settings for this PC, so I clicked it and it put everything to low and just totally broke the screen size, which still isn't back the way it was months later.And my PC is no monster but it can run it on high fine. It's like it severely overestimates how powerful a PC you need to have high settings, which doesn't seem to affect frame rates at all for me so I don't know what people with 3K+ PC's are doing to have it be smooth... I would not expect it within at least 3 years. I dunno, I don't think they'd bother announcing it like this now if it was going to be that long. It's not like the whole team will be working on it either they'll have support from PlayStation who'll probably speed it up quite a bit. Probably like within 6 months after the PC release. If they can speed up the development of it and have it done before H1Z1 and on PS4 and maybe X1 before it they might just destroy H1Z1, if everyone has already played DayZ nobody will care much about H1Z1 so perhaps they're going to aim for that. You do realize any optimization done to the game for it to play on the PS4 will be shared with the pc version( this is stated by rocket in the announcement of it) which means at the end of the day your 1200 dollar laptop will most likely play it better than your ps4 will at higher settings ( seeing as the ps4 is about as strong as a mid lvl laptop) But hey happy days if you can play it on whatever format you like seeing as they have stated pc is there main focus with extra work done by another team and progress shared with pc version so win win for everyone..
